I was looking into buying a new mixer, and i remembered watching a video, where tiesto and oakey were both using the vrm-10. It looked really nice so i decided to research it but i came up empty only to find it is no longer manufactored. Does any one know why stanton discontinued the VRM-10?

because they found out tiesto and oakey were using it.

It was ruining their great reputation :p

I have got believe that not enough people took them seriously. I mean it was supposed to be a high end quality mixer, something Stanton is certainly not known for. I suspect they simply had trouble getting people who could afford it to by it because all their other mixers are so mediocre (or crappy).

EDIT:

So I did a quick search and it looks like these cost about 2 grand which is a lot considering these two mediocre stats:
S/N Ratio >80dB
THD+Noise <0.1%

Now I have never used this mixer and don't know how it sounds or anything, but looking just at the specs and the price tag I am surprised they even marketed this thing. Not surprised at all that they discontinued it.

Well the only stuff i could remember was it had a liquid mercury tube display for the gains, and built in valve amps. All i can say with stanton designing this is, heavy metal poisioning, and potential fire hazard. :(

i just googled it to catch my memory... It does seem like a pretty sexy mixer. If it only was made by rane or A&H :( anyways, go to guitar center, they may have one left in stock in some wearhouse on the other side of the country, and they also may give you some insanely sick deal on it b/c of it's lack of units sold. That's what they did on my pioneer dmp-555, hell i got it for a steal @ $300
