Metro Rail or Metrolink stations allow overnight parking (I recommend taking them also when you can they rock)
the list of stations for metrolink can be found at www.metrolinktrains.com while the metro rail stations can be found at http://www.mta.net/riding_metro/met...es/rail_map.pdf
The Union Station one is the only one that is paid parking as far as i know but check the maps.

There's a Metrolink/Amtrak station in Santa Ana with FREE overnight parking. It's conveniently located off the 5fwy at Grand Avenue. I thin this is a central location since several of you live in LA and OC... There's another one off the 5 & 91 freeways in Fullerton, but that one has a smaller parking lot and I'm not sure if it's free.

1. how about people in san diego that want to join the caravan? i live in san diego and i would love to join this drive. i live just by the split of 805 and 5
2. no problem about that. just tell people the price of the room and we split it up in the morning

Well there might need to be 2 meet-up spots. One in La and one in the OC. I will know by tommrow where the La meet-up is. I am going to look into what metrorail allows overnight parking.
As for SD people comming to that should not be a problem... Just need to have adresses emailed to me. ([email protected])

Here it is folks The FINAL PLAN!!!!!
1. La people joining the carpool. Meet me at the Metrolink Staion that is is by Hollywood and Vine!! To park you turn left on Argyle.
Yes it is payed parking ($8) but there where no signs saying no over night parking any where in the lot :) Meet me at 3:30!!!!!!
2. OC people- Meet at the Metrolink Staion that is off the 5 Freeway and Grand. ( Woody please post directions off the 5) Assuming there is no Traffic it should only take us 45 Minutes to get to the OC.. if there is Traffic a lot longer. Go a head and meet us at the Station at 4:45!!!! Parking is Free there
3. Dinner is at the Yardhouse loacated at 1023 4th Ave., San Diego CA 92101 Starting at 8:30pm. This is a Tranceaddict meet-up/Preparty that everyone is invited too! :)
4. Everyone is welcome to crash at the Hotle I got as long as they
PITCH IN!!!!! I am sure the hotel charges for parking but cut a break for guest.
5. Estimated time to be in San Diego is 6:30-7:00 :)
Now for those OC people meeting at the Metrolink station I need someone to email me your Phone # so I can let you know we are on our way or if we are running late.
For those OC people that have no means to get to the Metrolink station and are on the way ( live off the 5) Please email me your Adress so I can map quest directions. :)
For SD people tthat want to join the car pool and are on the way see above. I need adress emailed to me.

The Santa Ana Train Station has two (2) parking lots ana one (1) parking structure. DO NOT PARK at the parking structure. The structure closes at midnite. Instead park at the parking lot closest to the rail road tracks. There should be signs that read 72 Hour Parking. The parking is free. Once you guys park, you should meet infront of the Main Building Entrance!!!! It's huge, and usually people meet there to wait for cabs.

From NORTH OC
Take the 5 Fwy South, Exit on Santa Ana Blvd/Grand Ave. Upon exiting. make a right onto Santa Ana Blvd. On the first light, Santiago Ave, make a left. Then a quick left into the PARKING LOT. The entrance curves. Try to find parking on the RIGHT Parking Lot. That's the 72 hour parking. If not, try the left one too.
From SOUTH OC
Take the 5 Fwy North, Exit on Santa Ana Blvd/Grand Ave. Upon exiting. make a left onto Grand Avenue, then a quick right onto Santa Ana Blvd. On the second light, Santiago Ave, make a left. Then a quick left into the PARKING LOT. The entrance curves. Try to find parking on the RIGHT Parking Lot. That's the 72 hour parking. If not, try the left one too.

Bas, you should meet at the Train Station. Otherwise, trying to pick everyone up at different spots will delay the trip ALOT! And, not only that, but the Train Station is right off the 5Fwy, and it's on the way to San Diego. The 405 will delay the trip by almost an hour cuz they will have to go on a big circle since they're coming from LA.
