Dave Seamen Review

Well after Tiesto on Saturday I thought that Seamen would play some laid back house/trance songs and let my body rest from the pounding it took from the 140 bpm that Tiesto drops...boy was I wrong !!! Seamen dropped sick progressive trax one after the other and put on a show that places him amoung the best in the Trance/House Progressive scene. The man was simply brilliant dropping well known trax like

FSOL - Papua New Ginuea
Trisco - Musik
Viio - Rapture

and many others that I'm either forgetting or simply can't ID....Seamen was penned to spin a 4 hour set but he ended up dropping at least 5 hours because of the numerous encores that the crowd begged him for (and he would have spun for longer but security told him that it was time to stop). All I can say is that although i enjoyed Tiesto's Set...Seamen was simply brilliant....perfect mixing...perfect song selection and what a way to work the crowd...he had a smile on his face and was dancing pretty much the whole nite.
I liked the fact that Seamen closed the set himself and didn't need a closing DJ like Tiesto...it made the crowd stay till the very end and he spun a lot longer. I noticed a few ppl from the Tiesto nite return for Seamen and the crowd was generally quite good....ahhhh this is truly the end of a great clubbing weekend !!!!

Gotta give props to Guvernment for bringing in these great Dj's....what a nite !!! What a party !!! :) I can hardly wait for PVD!

BTW I would love a tracklist of all the trax that Seamen spun...if anyone out there is a trainspotter please help me out.

I went and had a muuuuuuch better time on Sunday than Saturday. Better music, better dj, better venue, better crowd. I caught the tail end of Luke Fairs set and he was on fire. Dave Seaman was AMAZING last night. It was my first time seeing him live and I was REALLY impressed with him. I hope he comes back to TO soon. All and all an amazing night out, one of the best ive had in a while.

U are so right dude !!! I went to both Tiesto and Seamen. I'd never seen Tiesto and had high hopes for the so called "Prince of Trance", and although he spun a high intensity set with some decent tunes, his mixing was average and so many of his tracks were stright out of Magik 7...It almost felt like a programmed set. I know that Tiesto is very talented but I think that sat's set was not his best effort.

Now Seamen on the other hand was simply brilliant. I was there at the very beginning and thought that the opening DJ (Matt Coleright ?) was very good, I'd love to hear him do a peak time set, but his style was very smooth. Seamen on the other hand took everyone on a journey through the lands of progressive house/trance....almost every track was blended in beautifully...and the song selection was awesome...old classics mixed with some really good new choons. And I have to give the man full marks for working the crowd, he was smiling, dancing to the words and ended up giving the crowd at least 5-6 encores !!! What a night !!!! Dave Seamen come back sooon !!!!!

Wednesday - My all time fav PVD is going to rock the Guvernment....I've seen the great man 6-8 times and he has never failed to deliver.....get ready TO for a blazing set from GOD !!!!

I wish he drops a few songs from his politics of Dancing !!! I love some of those choons
