Trance in the Dakotas

Hi. I am an exchange student currently living in North Dakota at the border of Minnesota. And I have to tell you...coming from Europe to a place like this, where they haven't even heard of trance, is kind of depressing. So I was just wondering if someone knew of some trance events taking place in this area. Not too far from Winnipeg either, so I guess I could go there too.

Well I live in Iowa and I know how you feel... it's kind of funny, because there are many foreign exchange students at my school this year (including a very nice looking girl from Sweden, but that's another story ;)) and most of them are into trance or some other electronic music, and I'm like the only other person from my school who knows what it is :p Kinda sux, yeah there isn't much in the midwest, unfortunately. :(

BTW, there are many events that go on in Minneapolis. Actually Sasha is there tonight.

Minneapolis has been bringing in some good stuff lately. We've had Sasha, Chris Liebing, Marco V, and James Zabiela pretty much all in the past month or two. The local DJ scene trends to be more jungle/techno/breaks rather than trance...so alot of the parties cater to that. On October 30th, theres set to be a Halloween party in the Twin Cities, you can call the number the night of:

MNVibe is probably the best resource for events in the region, outside of Chicago (which has alot more stuff). Deep Dish is coming in on the 24th, but its 21+. There are some infrequent events in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Madison, hell, even in Iowa and Nebraska...but since South Dakota is a pretty desolate place, you'll have to journey out to find stuff.
