No, I haven't. He's high on the list, but it's tough since the scene in this city isn't that great. I can't fly to California or Vegas every weekend.
I was right up front a lot, so I was probably with you guys, too. They really need to find a better way to ventilate dance floors. At least it wasn't as sticky as PvD in San Diego.

Some notes about Ferry saturday night.
1. His SF set was a bit better, IMO. Sat night went like this 1) Experimental, 2) techno, 3) right of way, 4) anthems. Friday night he just brought the tunes.
2. What happened to the set being 4 hours? 3 1/2 horus does not equal 4 hours.
3. The crowd WAS snobby. Not nearly as bad as it was when I saw Tiesto at Avalon and still not as bad as Ruby Skye here on a bad night, but bad enough. Way too many guys with their shirts off rubbing into me w/ all their sweat. Take away the snobby people, and the crowd was surely more into it Saturday night than here in SF Friday night...
I had my ass grabbed twice by men....ewwwwwwww.
4. Something is wrong when the sound system sounds BETTER with earplugs on. I mean better as in clearer.....I could actually hear parts of the music I could not hear w/ the ear plugs out. Wearing earplugs and being right next to the speakers = beautiful. :-p
5. I really liked the type of music the opener was playing, but it was COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE for the night. He was wayyyyyyyy too progressive. And for people there waiting for Ferry, well, most people seemed to be generally bored of his set. When a headliner comes on, the crowd should be excited to see him coming on, not relieved...and well, it seemed like people were more relieved to see Ferry come on and not necessarily simply excited. Please refer to the quote from Ferry Corsten in my signature :-p
6. Did I mention I saw someone smoking crack right next to me up front at the speakers? Yep, I did. And my GF saw it happening, too.
7. SCG, the whole "heart" thing you were doing with Ferry...cheessyyyyyy. lol.
Some othe tracks he played...
Ferry Corsten - I Love You
System F - Solstice (Out of the Blue 2002)
Binary Finary - 1999 (Gouryella Remix) -- this is the proper title
Ferry Corsten - Sweet Sorrow (Thrillseekers Remix)
Ferry Corsten - It's Time
Ferry Corsten vs. Thrillseekers - Some "Right of Way" mashup....he played this near the beginning of his set, then later played solely his version of Right of Way. |

haha
BTW, I should point out...Ferry's 4 1/2 hour set here in SF back on February 20 (originally 3 hours, but such a great night he played an extra 90 minutes) DESTROYS both nights this past weekend.
That night back in February was ING AWESOME.

I agree with you on that one Dave!
Bret Kings set tend to be more on the boaring side then fun side. Some Tracks where pretty good while other seem to keep going and going and going... zzzzzzzz I kept looking at my phone to see what time it was.
I was one of those who that was excited and relived that Ferry was about to come on.
LOL LA Had Ferry for 5 hours or more at Day One Last year! NOW that was AMAZING!!!! |

Yes, too many sweaty guys. But that’s always the case isn't it? It does get pretty damn hot. I think Clubs need to learn about ventilation. My GF freaks when they rub up on her. They usually leave me alone thankfully. Funny thing is, they probably think they are turning the chicks (or guys) on
Snobby? Odd. In what way? I thought it was pretty much the opposite. I mean granted, people weren't giving backrubs or anything ;) I had plenty of people come up and talk to me and visa versa. Maybe it’s because I stayed towards the back of the dance floor. It sounded better back there.
The guy spinning before Ferry played some really good tracks. I wish I new what they were cause I was feeling a few of them. |

People who complain about the heat at HFT make me laugh. Want to feel heat? Go to the Mezzanine on a really, really packed night (Sasha, Digweed, etc)...

oh, nowhere can come even this close to Ruby Skye when it comes to a bad crowd talk... :stongue:
see, how many time I told you to stop doing the bunny-hops, this is what you'll get: ass-grabbing, they love it... :tongue2

oh it happened all the freaking itme in 1015, all those candy kids just can't get enough of it... also it happened in RS too when it's a big nite, it was AvB a month ago and these kids from Europe came to me asking for cig and I told them we're not allowed to smoke inside and them were like, what's the deal? we just cracked some pots and it's no big deal... :eyes:
all in all, I had the best clubbing nite EVER w/ Ferry on Friday nite, even better than AvB's nite at RS... waaaay better than Digweed and Sasha's nite, where that place was hot stuffy, sardine-packed and sweaty people all around, not like Digweed, Ferry sure bang the place from the very begining till the end... I mean maybe I hold too much expectation for Digweed, I was very very dispointed at him... especially after hearing all those compliments for Digweed, I decided to go see him but ended up w/ great dispointment... but I'd love go see him next time he's here to proof me wrong...
too bad it was at Mezzanine, where they have this 4am curfew, and 3 hour of Ferry? this is like a child's play!!! :whip:
why can't we get at least a 6 hours of him? if Soundae can't get a better place for all these great talents, perhaps considered 1015 is the only place to go... I still remembered Marvo V on Memorial Day weekend at 1015, 6 hours of him.... and if not because of the staff stopped him from playing, he could go on and on and on... and the crowd really enjoyed it so much, that was the ONLY time I felt like partying in Europe...:disbelief anyway, I can't wait for Ferry... he'll be back soon... REAL soon... :p |

Ferry came on a little after 12:30am and played until 4:10am ... that's about 3 1/2 hours :-p
And with the 4am close, yeah, dunno about that, too. I don't recall anyone from security making him stop, though....but he didn't really play an encore, so maybe they did make him stop.
I have seen the Mezz go well past 4am on a Friday night before (example: Digweed), but I guess it's a matter of how late Spundae books the place until.

Ferry was decent, though I liked PVD alot better at the Mayan... Different sound though.
And Dave - I had a guy try to make out with me! I had to show him my ring I got from my fiance to get him away from me, and I had a few ass grabs as well!
I ended up leaving at like 2:30 because guys kept coming on to me and killing the feel.
O well... |
