Creating a studder in Reason?

any suggestions on how to create a smooth pop free studder using Reason?
Doing 16th notes I tried using the volume and I tried to do it by switching an attached effect on and off, but I still get poping.

I don't understand. Explain how it sounds and maybe I can help you.

Maybe a sample to listen to?
JRB
Well, without having to post a sample, I'll try to explain it. I'm taking a sustained pad sound with a slow attack so it rises into the song. The sound lasts about 15 seconds and I'm trying to make it cut in and out on every 16th note. I'm just having trouble keeping it from poping. I know if I was doing this in my DAE I can just create mini fades between chopped up segments, but in Reason I don't know.

Not sure what you mean.

Made a short sample: http://www.lnctv.com/~a41154a/samples/pad.mp3

You mean something like that?
DJ-Igloo
are you talking about an gate effect ?
Chronosis
Well you can just automate your synths/samplers volume and make those "mini fades" on every 16th note. Other way would be using a tempo synced lfo controlling the volume.

The Matrix sequencer, redrum sequence controls & the main sequencer level controls can all be used as gates if you hook them up correctly.
