hey ive noticed for a while now that aria doesnt hold the "monopoly" for big names in mtl anymore.
alot of djs go to other clubs now and aria has alot more resident only nites (which im apreciating gratly)
your thoughts? |

my humble opinion is that residents only nights don't work at aria and probably never will. The residents are excellent and I have nothing against them.
But, people have been used to go to aria only for the big names and that won't change unless the club does some drastic changes like getting a liquor licence. |

Ça ne serait pas le contraire justement ?! Puisqu'on dit ici qu'il y a de plus en plus de soirées résidents only, peut-être que c'est parce qu'ils se rendent compte qu'ils n'ont plus nécessairement besoin d'un gros nom pour remplir la place, non ? Je dis ça comme ça, ça fait vraiment longtemps que je n'y suis pas allé un soir résident only.
Quant au fait que les gros noms commencent à se promener un peu partout dans Montréal et non seulement au Aria, c'est selon moi un effet du fait que Montréal devienne de plus en plus un phare international pour le EDM. Le Aria s'est tapé la job de "convaincre le marché" et ils ont assumé les risques dits "effet de nouveauté" et maintenant que l'EDM s'est grandement installé à Montréal, on trouve de plus en plus de gens intéressés à investir de la piastre dans ce marché. Mais ils ne l'auraient jamais fait il y a 3 ans car ils n'avaient pas les idées (ou les couilles?) que JF avait.
Quant aux gros événements, puisque l'on voit le Aria impliqué dans chacun d'entre eux, mon guess c'est que la bannière 514 flotte encore que pour attirer les purs et durs amateurs 514, mais c'est le Aria qui fait tout le boulot de booking en arrière. 514 doit tout de même avoir quelques relations utiles pour organiser ces gros événements, mais bon j'estime leur rôle à "minoritaire".
Tout ça de mon humble point de vue, aucune preuve à apporter. |

ya qqk années....les soirées résidents amenaient BEN PLUS de monde...maintenant, cest rendu poche pareil.....pourtant, yont les meilleurs résidents....AU MONDE....sauf que comme malek dis...ça prendrait de quoi pour attirer le monde.....javoue que le alcool license ça serait bon.....mais jpense juste à plus de publicité.....ou un concept nice...je sais pas......qqk chose un peu comme la fait le Circus et qui a "volé" pas mal de clientèle.... |

I think its awesome that Aria has more and more resident nights,but i dont think its because they attract more people:
Big names cost money, which MAYBE aria doesnt have right now because of all the big events they're organizing, therefore the money isnt invested in single nights with big names but more big events with big names every once in a while. So they'll keep having resident nights which really doesnt bother me. But their were some excellent dj's during the past few weeks dropping by,so they've done a great job with the bookings too.
Final thought: Thumbs up for the resident nights and if aria's budget can allow them to bring some unknown or djs who's arent in the top 10 (except Carl Cox) of the djlist,i say amen to that.
Alcohol would give a hell of a boost also, but the liscence and the fact thats its an after hour,its risky. |

i think the main problem with Aria is that its too big.
on resident nights you can have 500+ people and it looks empty and people leave.
If they could transform the 3rd room into a mini aria, with half the dancing space and open the main room only for big events.
i'm thinking out loud. |

That building used to be a movie theatre, there was 3 rooms. The main room, hiphop room and there's another one which hasn't been touched. |

| really hard 2 do n very "dreamy" but openin that 3rd room during normal hours would b great.....Have fun there, listen to good fkn music, drink, then head down for the main event.... |

Like @ Sona if I remeber correctly...they had three rooms and they sometimes would not open the main room till late in the night...
