as far as i recall , i don't believe the Guv has booked any major headliners to play on NYE at the Guv in the last 3-4 years..
anyhow, i'd much rather spend NYE at a house party or with someone special than at a club .. u can hit up a club on the other 364 days of the year.. it's no more special on this night!

the only thing special about the NYE @ a club is the cover price. it usually costs an arm and a leg to get in. no, spank u, i'll pass. :D |

And just as I was thinking about when I should plan on going up to Montreal....

very true...NYE is such an overhyped production...I wouldn't pay more than $20-30 to get in anywhere.
Although I went to a place in Montreal though...5-6 years ago though...and granted the music wasn't great...but it wasn't awful either (The Loft, I think?).
Big line, but we slipped a bouncer a $20 (total, not each!) to let 7 or 8 of us skip the line, paid $10-15 cover to get in, and it was $2 for a certain domestic beer and $1.50 bar shots ALL NIGHT! :eek: WTF...on the night when they can gouge the out of people, $20 at the bar = trashed :D
Needless to say, I overcame the lack of good tunes after a few rounds ;) |
