How much do you drop in the record store?

ok - so i went on a little bender today and spent $100 on cd's at the virgin megastore and want to know how much you guys have dropped in a record store?
i know some of you closet dj's spend $$$ on vinyls - time to fess up :) |

Well I just started buying vinyls because I'm getting TTs real soon.
One's order is still processing (if you wanna know, look at my Satellite Records thread in DJ Booth)
And the other one I already have, a buddy of mine from Scotland sent it to me for free :D Dido - Sand in My Shoes. Thanks Alan btw ;)
I also plan to order 4 from Chemical this week... so I'm trying to stock up before Christmas :)
Really sucks because, obviously if you look at my location, there are no record stores in sight around here... not even for HipHop (I say that because it's the only common music around here besides Country) so I have to buy everything off the net. I might be going to Chicago real soon so hopefully I can pick up some stuff there too. |

I used to spend like 100-200 a month on vinyl, I gave up until I can afford better equipment though, including CDJ's. I still love going to Gramaphone though, nothing compares to record shopping in Chicago on a fall/winter day!!:toocool:
On Cds I usually buy 2-3 per week but that includes full albums, thats all genres of music.
P.S. I cant wait til Dave Piazza replys to this thread!:haha: :p |

Well.....I don't usually spend too much at one store, though one day I did buy 95 bucks in vinyl at Gramaphone.
I spend stupid amounts of money for certain rare vinyls though. I have at least 5 I paid over 25 bucks each for and to this date I have spent just under $200 on copies of Flat Beat and its various remixes.

| I don't spin but my boyfriend does. When I go to the record store with him, he will spend around 70 or 80 dollars on vinyl. He is one of those vinyl whores that has to have everything even though he will never play it out. |

| Just spent $40 at midnight last night for the new AVB & Sander Kleinenberg CDs, which followed probably $80 earlier in the week for some new tracks to add to the collection. Not too much on vinyls right now, with the new CD package I got last month. Living off of 50 cent microwave burritos & 10 cent ramen noodles is helping to buy more music. |

I have been spending much less on vinyl and more on pay per downloads @ sites such as Beatport.com and trax2burn. I still love vinyl but I don't love carrying it around. I am embracing technology more and more everyday. I used to be about $200/mo on vinyl but now I am around $50 to 75 per month for twice the amount of music. Can't go wrong

I don't really buy vinyl as I'm not really a dj but every once in a while ....
My big purchases are : dvd's.
I used to go through periods were I would spend 180$/week on dvds .... which justifies the fact I have a 150+ collection.
Not only that but I usually go for the special editions and for Criterion dvds so $$$$
When I got a significant pay raise in january I was all excited because it meant I could buy more dvds... how bad is that!
Now I'm chilling on the dvd buying but I'm now looking at a nice tv .... 600+ $ :-/
I'm insane I know ... I'm scared to calculate how much I've spent. |

i spend like $200+ a week on crack.
as for music... i don't spin, but i do own one vinyl (which is displayed on my wall next to my Junkie XL framed print), Perpetuous Dreamer - Dust.wav (bought it in NY because of my Armind angel tattoo)
and i buy most of my CDs used on Amazon, unless it's something brand spankin new, which i will either try to find at Exclusive Company, Best Buy, or as a last resort - Amazon.
i have also been using www.freshtracksmusic.com for a lot of non-EDM music. $3/month membership gets you unlimited downloads of plenty of great unheard bands/artists, whose genres reach from alternative to singer/songwriter to hip-hop (really GOOD hip-hop, i might add), etc... the sound quality is not CD quality, but i don't really care. |

vinyl record cost on average $18.00.
I usually buy 10 records a month.
