Anybody here into any of that ? Like lucidity, or buddist/chakra/yoga meditation?
i tried lucid dreaming once and it didnt work, so i gave up.
Do any of you people on here do these type of non drug induced practices? just wondering.
and if you do, why do you do it, and are there any advantages, etc. |

I meditate before I go to sleep.
You can attempt lucid dreaming, but I've found it just comes naturally to me. Though there are tribes in South Asia that practice lucid dreaming as a custom - they believe that there is no difference between the 'real' world and the dream world. So, from early youth, they condition their people to live in both their dreams and in our perceivable consensus reality. Pretty cool stuff ;) |

| Hyperventilate for 30 seconds, then have a buddy push on your chest. It works like a charm. |

I forced myself in to hyperventialtion when I was having an E.E.G. once...
Not a fun experience, but it feels like you're being crushed, just...no pain....interesting synaesthesia. |

you can't "try" lucid dreaming. lucid dreaming is when you're having a dream and you find that you're actually in control of your own actions...what you might've tried was astral projection. |

I feel the same way about it! I've been lucid dreaming as long as I can remember, so my "dream world" is just as important as my "real world". No one I talk to ever understands this. Seems to me the only people who ever know what I mean are TAs. Must be the music ;). |

:haha: To be perfectly honest, my fascination with the 'dream world' was what led me to enjoy Trance for as long as I have... or was it that trance gave me an appreciation for the dream world?
It doesn't matter - I believe that dreams are on par with or even more important than the "real" perceivable reality - and that's not necessarily a biopsychological standpoint. You have control in your dreams, so what keeps you from having control of your own life? It's all just perception... or is there a limit? I have no true answer - try to live without limits, though.
Oh, and for the record, The Matrix was not the greatest movie of all time. In fact, many parts of it sucked. |

I dont get how lucid dreaming comes so easy to people and even people who experienced it and didnt know what it was.
i feel left out :( |

You're just trying too hard, perhaps? Or maybe not hard enough...
Hmmm....
How's this? wake yourself up in your dream. Through practice, you can dream about pretty much whatever you want to - dream about sleeping and then 'wake yourself up'...
It's worth a shot ;) |

And everyone thinks I'm weird! I am not alone! :)
The Bon religion of Tibet has a practice called Dream Yoga. As part of Dzogchen (the path to enlightenment), one must learn that all of experience is but a dream. It is also similar to the Australian Aboriginal culture, which believes that all reality emerges from the "Dreamtime."
But even without all that heavy mystical connotation, lucid dreams... man...:tongue2 |
