This question as as old as time itself... HOW THE HELL do you organize your trance music on your mp3 players? On my old nomad I just had them organized by artist, but its not like trance songs have albums they come from or anything like that...

I find it impossible to organize my music on any mp3 player, but maybe I'm missing something??

Just make some folders, for every artist one. I have also a folder for ASOT and GDJB episodes. That's all I need.

Well niether on my nomad or on my ipod can i make folders, they have to all be uploaded by itunes or playcenter?? Both of those read ID3 tags, which no livesets have, and the ones that do are all messy

I got an Iriver jukebox that I connect to my computer which recognise my jukebox as an external harddisk. I don't know how an Ipod works to be honest.

Just use something like winamp to edit the id3 tags, I always do that so that all my mp3s have at least the artist and title in the tag.

I've got an ipod, and it's easy to organize, just create playlists on itunes and autmatically these will be transferred to your ipod....

Its pretty simple, i have a nomad player aswell. Just go into nomad explorer and rename all your trance tunes to have the album name 'trance singles'. Thats how i do it anyway

Yeah actually that's what I learned to do last night (I put 15 gigs worth of livesets and singles on my ipod last night) but yeah i just had to edit each id3 tag. Alot of them went into the "singles" category for trance songs and "livesets" for livesets
skm
folders of the date u downloaded it
sub folders if its like a set of tracks or livesets etc (ie. july > july01-sensation white)
thats what i do for my ipod and computer, like that with folders and playlists
u cant have sub playlists ni the ipod so i just do
july0
july01
etc

I know that with My Rio Karma, when I go to 'play music' it gives me the option of playing:

Artist
Album
Track
Playlist
Rio DJ
Genre
Year

So when I get a song off of a CD and have Windows Media Player look up the track tags for me, everything is already categorized. I just make playlists and listen to them a lot of the time, mostly. Otherwise, I just go to 'album' and press play - it's just like having a CD, only you have 200 of them in a nice little box :happy2:
