I've heard thousands of Epic/Anthem trance tracks.

I'm neither an expert nor a veteran, but my eyes are more open to music than most. In fact there are only three or four subgenres of trance I can't listen too. As for the rest of EDM, anything but "noise" is pretty much fair game. |

I say listen to what you like Ive been listeing to EDM since the 90's dance/house Ive watched the music grow and I still love it all...commerical or not I can still make people groove to it and then if someone doesnt like it I always mix in less played tracks by popular Djs its all good to me and to the people I play it for. I love all electronic music from ambient to hardcore so I guess I can just feel all kinds of music...commerical or not.
Selling out is bad but I listen to ASOT and all Online radio shows and Love them but I definatley go to record shops and find my own tunes beacuse ya that important. But I spin tons of stuff so I dont see just one side of it. Its music Enjoy it the more ppl to hear it the better ! |

seriously, i think people who say they are "bored" with trance or think it is to blase or it's too poppy need to lay off .. they are listening to trance too much, or expressing a critique to the trance genre by listening to just a couple of sample artists. you cannot do that. if you have been listening to trance for a long time, and you feel that it isn't that same as it was before, go test waters in a different genre for six months, then go back to trance, and you'll feel the same way as you felt when you first heard of trance.
i swear .. i think the people that are criticizing trance are either listening to it too much, are hardcore obsessors thinking trance is some music to mosh to, or they just have "ants in their pants".
just sit on some ant killer seeds will u? |

i agree with him totally. it seems the more popular a genre is, the supposed "hardcore" genre lovers show a distaste to their love, because other people are sharing the love with the hardcore lovers. |

| If you don't like it then don't listen to it. If you don't like the thread topics then don't read them. If you feel there are too many Noobs then get upset since all that means is more people buying records hence more DJ's getting oppurtunities which will equal more productions pushing the edge to be noticed, which equals more new music. I think you can handle that can't you. If not snuggle up with your blankie your mom will be over shortly with your bottle. |

Yes, most ASOT/GDJB bashing wits have a tendency to do that.
But i guess its nobody's fault. The term 'underground' has many mis-interpretations. Ideally, underground music is non-commercial devoid of the catchy melodies/hooks/synths and stays like that. It tends to have a close-knit and highly committed community. Shows like ASOT are usually a threat to this because they focus more on gathering tranceaddicts together which is why the underground community lashes out. |
