I was reading through the reader's digest, and I came across an article about a guy that wanted to play his old record collection again and needed a turntable.
this is an absolute classic quote from that article:
"Buying something as uncool as a turntable takes courage and planning" :stongue:
The guy also thought that the salesperson at the store would as him all sorts of questions, about why he would want such a device, and he was very surprized when he asked for a tt that the sales guy just said "Coming right up" and gave him one.
I think I'm gonna use that quote as my sig. |

I forget to mention, The guy is prob around 50 and his kids listen to cds and mp3s, and just like my mom and dad they seem to think that TT's don't exist anymore.
My dad gave me the weirdest look when my first shippment of vinyls arrived. :eyes: |

That's not uncommon. Most people from that generation don't realize the advancements in turntable technology and think that tt's and records are obsolete. It's amazing the look of surprise on a 50+ year olds face when they come into my apartment and see 500-600 vinyl in stacks against the walls around my living room. |

One has to have sympathy for them though... I get the same feeling when I walk into a room and theres a typewriter.
Or did I miss something about the coolness of typewriters? |

Whoa there chief. Ease up of the roids. Most people here know that they don't have a reason to know that tables still exist, but it's still kind of amusing. |

reminds me of when my new neighbor chick came over, shes was only 20 and she said, "oh wow you have a record player".
heh, I said, no I have 2 record players. :wtf:
Too bad I moved, I could have gotten a lot more stupid lines from her. |

How often do 50 year olds come into your apartment? |

As often as he is lonely and desperate, I think. |
