Snowboard Season is nearly here......woohoo

Well its gettin near that time of year again, and I need some new snowboard boots, was wondering if theres any fellow boarders on here that can help we spend some of my not so earned cash.

My boots right now are crap, I need a boot that has awesome support, keeps your feet warm but still lets them breath, and has an awesome fit.

The ones I been looking at are the K2 Tracker Boa, Vans Contra, and the DC Judge, these all have that laceless system called the Boa, which seems like a great idea and would keep your feet 100% secure, although I do have a friend with some older boots with the system, and he says that after you have been carving and stretching the top of the boot, the bottom part gets tighter, I hope they have fixed this problem, anybody know?, but the main thing I'm asking for are other peoples opinions and you can also recommend any other boot, and please comment on the 3 I chose if you know anything, I need new boots bad and money isn't an issue, also theres a ski/snowboard conference here soon with all the makes showing there new gear, thats where I plan to buy them.

I hear ya man, I'm getting stoked for this season, its snowing beautifully outside and its just gettin me more and more hyped, I went out about 13 times last year, hope to get over 20 this year, and hit more resorts aswell as go backcountry, but I need to get a beacon first.

I know what you mean about turning toe edge and your heel lifting up, I got the same problem, I do my crappy boots up nice and tight and after 1 run, there kinda loose again, plus they got no inner padding and feel like crap, and when your out in -40'C weather they really don't help.

i cant wait for snowboard season either. i need new boots, because me feet grew and even last year i needed them, but i survived. hopefully it wont be TOO bad this year, because i have many other things i wish to spend money on. i kind of regret not getting a season pass a few weeks ago, when it was cheap. now they're several hundred dollars and like i said, i have elsewhere to spend my cash. i hope to go atleast 15 tims this year, but the nearest place is about an hour away and gas prices are just going up so we'll have to see......

around here the resorts open in just under a month.. what about for you guys?
DannyO
The season here starts soon aswell, I know that Lake Louise opens November 6th, and that ski/snowboard conference starts on the 5th, so I hope to get some awesome boots and hit the mountains the next day.

anticipation is high up the sky:tongue2

check out some 32 boots.
of all the ones I tried on, they were the most comfy. Ive never had temperature or slipping issues with them, and the shell has a lacing system, as well as the boot(ie you lock yourself DOWN, then BACK)
just look at 32...they do good stuff.

i hope that we get some quality snow this year too. around here they machine make the snow... last year i think it snowed enough ONCE to where we actually sunk in the snow and had some powder... that was the most fun i've ever had, just cause we dont experience poweder for the most part. i hope that over the xmas break we get (im still in HS) i can get myself and some friends to colorado and snowboard on some REAL mountains. im tired of taking >5 minutes to get the bottom of the runs. stupid weak 400ft elevation :whip:
DannyO
Last year my first time out that season we went to Kicking Horse, oh man, it had TONS of fresh snow and it has a 9000 foot elevation, if you follow the jeep trail down its 10km long, but that day it was all about the backcountry, at one point I sank and it was upto my chest, it wasn't fun getting out though.

LOL.. thickest powder i've been in is up about an inch past my ankels when standing completely still...

so do any of you guys play games like 'scare the skier' and stuff...?

DannyO
Well don't really play any games, other than "Dodge the tree", but I have scared the out of skiers, I have got some crazy speeds before, wish I could find out exactly how fast I was going.
D-res
yeah, dodge the tree sounds like it could be fun. just dont pull a sonny bono or you're fukt... what kinda injuries have you guys pulled off on the slopes. lol... i have gotten the typical scrapes and bruises, but my worst injury was a cracked tailbone, which i recracked 5 months later rollerblading:whip:

i still get little pains now and then when i bump it...
