Hi people !
Since my nord lead 2 has only 16 voices polyphony I am planning to sample all my favourite sounds ( at all pitches )in order to use them with Halion.
This is my idea:
(1)
I am going to make a mide with every note I want to sample at a certain length.
(2)
Then I am going to cut out all single samples from this recorded wav file.
(3)
Now I need a piece of software which can load all samples, autodetect pitches and automap them in oder to create an Halion, Akai oder Soundfont patch in order to use it with Halion.
Which programm should I use for step number three ?

| You know, I've been wondering that too for quite sometime. I think I read about a program that did that but I can't remember. I'll hit you up if I find it. :) |

well I don't know about loading samples but the program Xlutop Chainer works really well for multisamples from vst's. You just load your vst and then choose export multisamples, you pick which keys you want to export, the velocity, and the length. Then it exports those notes in .wav or .sf2 format named with whatever you named the file + it's corresponding note name. I searched for a bit for what you are talking about but I can't find anything either. Good luck with that.
if anybody is interested in that Xlutop Chainer, the demo of it is fully functional except that you can't load patches, you can save them make them or use it as long as you want ect...
here's a link to the site

(1) I am not searching a recycle tool, something like chainer or anything else.
(2) I just need a programm to autodetect pitches and automap them in oder to create an Halion, Akai oder Soundfont patch in order to use it with Halion.
Links provided didn't help me much, anyone else ?

Like I said before, I tried to search around and find things for you but I didn't. I posted that because it looked like something Stuart Silver was looking for.
I don't know where you are going to get a program that does both of those things....Use Vienna Soundfont Studio to make your soundfonts. When recording them just write down the notes as you play them in order so you know the first sample in the file is lets say C1 and then the second in the file is D#1 for example. This will only take you a couple seconds to do. Then I don't know how you go about it but you could name the file "LeadSound(C1), LeadSound(D#1) ect...
Here is a good tutorial on making soundfonts
http://www.ethanwiner.com/vienna.html
here is a link to download Soundfont Studio 2.3 it's freeware
http://www.soundfont.com/downloads2/vienna23.zip
I'm trying to help you here, sorry if my help isn't usefull...
good luck |

| In soundforge you can auto trim samples makes it a bit easier when cutting up your files into individual files for multisampling. Also for something like that if you learn all the keyboard shortcuts it makes it alot easier. I can cut up, normalize, and save alot of samples in a very short amount of time. When I say auto trim btw, I mean if you have one of the samples it will cut the silence off the ends... Well I gave alot of info here, so even if it doesn't help you maybe it well help someone else. |

Hmm...I am pretty sure it works with single note melodies. But chordy sounds might sound different, I have a JP8000 supersaw sample and it really doesn't sound that good. But I'll post some examples if I suceed with my project.

Gonna try it soon. Some questions I am interested:
What sampler did you use ?
Did you sample each note or only some ?
