I figure I'd better invest in a pair - anyone reccomend any in particular?

Alright... quick question, do they automatically lower any volume by (9, 15, 25) dB, or is that just their maximum range? So, if I had some ER-25s in my ears, and I was listening to a system producing 90 dB, would I be hearing 80 dB (since that's considered the general safe range that you tend to shoot for) or 65?

get the er-20's. They work well and they are only about $15 US or so. I'm not sure about the decibels, but the farther you put them into your ear, the more effective they are.

the number is the dB drop across the board.
They are designed to reflect the ears natural freqency curve as closely as possible.... 25s may be a little too much- stick with 15s or 20s
p.s- even the quietest bar/club will exceed 80 anyway |

Are the 15s or 20s still good enough for DJing in a club? I know those monitors have to get really damn loud.
