| I know im escaping the realm of trance but since ritchie is so familiar to people in ontario, does anyone know if his new cd that came out last week is any good? |

it was pretty surprising to me. I read a couple of interviews with him about that album. They said he used over 100 tracks, edited them and made like a couple of hundred loops between 1 and 5 seconds. Since I'm a mix freak myself, I HAD to check it out.
It is really good, but very different from what I expected. This is NOTHING like a DJ set as we know it. It is the future of that.
But it won't work for trance. There is a really nice flow to the mix, a good groove. No crazy mixing as you would expect it, cause it was all done on PC or whatever. But it's good to listen to. Little housy.
I say check it out! |

I liked it a lot, it was very well put together, although I was disapointed that it wasn't as hard as his older 'Decks, EFX and 909'..
3.5/5
5/5 (if your a die hard hawtin fan)

^^^^not at all! It's rather relaxing, stuff I'd expect in a (modern) cocktail-bar, rather housy as I said. Not banging at all IMO.
(what am I doing in the toronto forum:conf:;)) |

You need to pick up Decks, EFX and 909 that's much more hard banging.
Along the same lines there's the 1st CD of Monteral Mix Session 5 or Misstress Babara's Relentless Beats.
