Do you think that they mean something? Or do they have no meaning whatsoever?

I had a dream recently and its kind of bothering me a little because i think its my subconscience, but i think dreams have no meaning. What do you think about dreams?
Arbiter
None whatsoever. I never remember my dreams upon waking anyway, even when I've tried a variety of techniques that were supposed to help me do it.

I'm the same way. I can recall about 10 dreams in the past 10 years. I don't understand why. Maybe its becuase i took a sleeping pill last night.:stongue:

Actually I think my dreams can make me aware of something I know but maybe aren't taking into consideration... thats what happened a while back anyway

Wish I could remember more of them tho...

My dreams are mainly just random nonsense, they hold no significance to me whatsoever other than entertainment value.

yeah they freak me out sometimes

but what you remember is bits and pieces of other dreams

i think you're dreams are a way of your subconscience trying to tell you something....

All dreams make sense, most dreams are so cryptic in their representations that people dismiss them as random and without meaning. For instance, if you were to dream about your favourite DJ, this most likely has no relevance to him/her, but that DJ is very likely to representing someone or something that you respect highly, that is distanced from you etc. etc.

So, as an example going with what I said above. You dream of your favourite DJ - lets say Paul Van Dyk, he's playing out at a club and you're there with a number of people. Yet you can't hear any music, whereas everyone else can and they're all having a great time. You, however are standing there, alone, not hearing any sound and feeling confused and isolated.

The dream interpretation of that could be a number of things, but what I had in mind when I thought it up was that it could represent someone being distanced from their father, someone they respect very highly, but someone who is not giving them any attention or love. This is a very simple example - but hopefully anyone who cares will get the idea. It's all representational.

I put as much stock into my dreams as I do in my acid hallucinations, I shrug them off and hope that hot naked chicks appear the next time it I do it.

Sometimes my dreams end up with me in a restroom at some point, then I wake up and have to take a piss.:conf:

if i remember my dreams, i haven't been smoking enough weed..

dreams are images from your subconscious slapped together for you in a silent show while you're in REM sleep; it's like your brain is decompressing all of the stored information from the previous day into your subconscious. repressed problems and day to day issues can be represented in symbols and images, as far as i know, that are commonly shared among most people.

ask freud about dreams.
