I never really thought about this before, but why is it that most trance tunes are in English?
I mean listening to Armin on ASOT talking in dutch and then saying the track name in English... its kind of funny?
How come producers and artists don't label their tracks in thier native tongues? |

| I mean, your chosen language is Dutch, and your potential sales are so much less than if it is English, which is as close to the universal language on this earth as you will get. |

I don't know for other languages, but EDM in spanish sucks. It sound way better in english.
That and the "universal language" thing. :) |

| it does seem strange when Armin speaks Dutch then breaks out into English for track names and so on, interviews in English with magazines and so on and pretty much all vocals in tracks are in English. I think its just easier onthe ear and easier for people across the world to understand. :D |

| I personally don't see my self naming a track by me in icelandic , expecially trance , perhaps a hiphop track but not EDM tracks :D |

Exactly, why would restrict their tracks to a national audience? Almost every, big-name comercial artist performs in english. This is the way its been since rock'roll became popular in the 50s. |

| I prefer lyrics in an alternative language - makes it more interesting, and most other European languages are pretty special. |

As long as it has a good beat, some in badass melodies, i don't care what language its in.
But most people understand english.
In the end, It doesn't really matter what langugae the songs are in, because the lyrics usually don't make sense anyways :toothless |
