You haven't noticed an increase in the amount of people trying out DJ'ing? Maybe things are different in Minnesota?
I have noticed an increase in the number of Bedroom Dj's out there. This of course is only based on my personal experience in the Toronto EDM scene. |
Maybe there are alot of toronto lamers? here in minnesota, the EDM scene sucks ass, except there is a large amount of experimental techno whores... but nothing you can bare for more than 1 minute |

Why do you say it sucks ass Lane? Just because we don't have a great local trance dj? |

That's surprising, but i don't see what would be RIAA's interest in inventing these numbers, so i'll believe them. |
ummm if sales are up it means that what they are doing is working, and they get more $$$. |

its... so-so, compare our scene to LA or FL, or even Washington DC, what we get in for DJs in a year, they get more than us in one month...
I must say, the MN EDM scene lately has been decent thanks to G&D, Marco V, Sasha, & Chris Liebing, but previously, its been bad. |

I think people need to take this seriously. If the largest US distributor is closing, that leaves only one main import distributor in the US, which is Watts Music.
Prices on vinyl has already gone up, if its monopolized it could get ugly. |

| i think people should stop living in the 19th century... i am really surprised that sales are increasing even that measly 1.9%... vinyl is definitely not going to be around forever, there are much cheaper and better-sounding options, which are just as good a media for dj as vinyl. it's only the question of "leetness", traditions and breaking the habit. and i am always amused when i hear that "warm vinyl sound" bull. |

then why aren't many cd singles right now? 95% of the trance releases are vinyl only!!! that's why people buy it!
they need to lower the prices on cd decks and press every release on vinyl & cd! that would be the best solution in my oppinion! |

i vinyl and will continue buying them until they stop pressing good ones, regardless of how many other people buy them.
