dood its only loblows..ur only a grocery/produce clerk making almost minimum wage,,,u dont need a resignation letter....
i take retail management..i know this stuff...(or pretend to)
+
this is how i quit from no frills after 1 year
(over the fone)
me: yea i cant come in today cos i got to do (actually it was opening day at foodbasics where i was hired as fulltime reciever)
manager: u cant do this when ur scheduled to work (in an angry tone)
me: ok then i quit...goodbye
manager: *slams fone*
i got my vacation pay and everything...they cannot NOT give it..
then after 4 months of summer fulltime at food basics, i quit by walking up to my manager and explaining my reasons and stuff etc etc and well he smiled, shook hands, wished me best of luck in further endeavors blah blah
for a small time job like that u dont need a resignation letter
and if they dont give u ur vacation pay, u can take it up to the union..after allu DID spend 2.5 years paying them... |

Dear Mr. Munch:
I regret to inform you that as of December 1st, 2004 I will no longer be able to work at Loblaws Collingwood, or remain a member of UFCW1000a. Please provide a letter of reference for my time worked here, starting July 15th, 2002 to the above mailing address.
Please forward copies of this letter to the Produce Management with my regards.
Sincerely,
Matthew P. Marshall |
I wouldn't say you regret to inform him, you would LIKE to inform him.
Was this a part time job? Honestly, I don't think references have EVER been checked in my part-time jobs throughout highschool and on. It only get serious like that will full-time jobs after school is finished. Reference letters arne't that big a deal, and to be honest, like Liam said, I wouldn't even write one. |

| I used to work at Loblaws in the photolab. After working there for three years I knew my manager pretty well. I simply explained to her that I would be leaving, and she was totally cool with it. I dunno about your loblaws, but we went through staff like crazy !! |

I am gonna put the letter in, and try to get a letter of ref. (because they won't remember me after 2 months)
b/c I only plan to work @ Blockbuster for a year or so, then I plan to move to Toronto for school.
I would like to be able to put both 2.5 years of Loblaws and 1 year of Blockbuster on my resume, so I can start phasing out stupid like Grant Internet Co-Op off my resume.
BTW guys, don't EVER work at Loblaws or Zehrs or Real Canadian Superstore. The place is a hole cuz they are incredibly lax on health and safety, and they treat employees like . |

yeah... but it seems Blockbuster is nice, and my mom, who just started @ StarBucks (previously @ Loblaws) says working there is so much better.
Loblaws = You are lucky to have a job with us
Starbucks = We are lucky to have you as an employee
But, I am excited about Blockbuster... I might not want to die everytime I go to work!
Also, Loblaws just hired 15+ new employees, but won't give them hours. They are just there to fill in when the salaried employees go on vacation... but all these kids thought they were gonna work 15+ hours a week! Bastards. |
