Quit bitching about payroll...the Red Sox are just like the Yankees. They pay to win....except for once, they finally did win something.

I just love how a fanbase that was so down in the dumps and obsessed about losing is now the cockiest bunch around because they won ONE World Series. Win a few more and become a real dynasty, then we'll start talking.

wad.

I didn't say a word about payroll
the pic points out that the yanks haven't won since 2000, and that a lower-payroll team beat them every time since then

take that george, you can bring 10 more a-rods you still won't win

word :haha: :haha: :haha:

And what do you think happened in 1996? Let's not be biased here... oh wait... you can't not be biased.

In 96, the Yankees won the World Series for the 23rd time after an 18 year drought and began a dynasty.

Bias? Hmm...let's analyse the situation here.

If the Yankees win the World Series, it's because they buy their championships. If they lose, it's because they're overpriced and "spending money doesn't make you win ha ha ha ha ha bla bla bla".

If the Red Sox win the World Series (despite having a mammoth payroll themselves), it's because they were the anti Yankees in every sense and were the greatest team in baseball. But when they lose (and there's been a whole lot of that), it's the Yankees fault because they buy all the best players.

I mean come on...give me a ing break.

Honestly, a very good point here. I agree with what you're saying totally.

However, I live in New York and I see how the Yankee fans are first hand. There were barely any before '95. Then an explosion happened after '96. Coincidence, I think not. That's all I'm really trying to say here. After every championship, a team gains a larger fan base. That's just the way it is. In New York, everyone was a Mets fan in the mid-80's. Now it's the opposite.

Red Sox Nation

That's an article by Bill Simmons (the Sports Guy) from ESPN. It's filled with e-mails he received from Red Sox, Cubs and Yankee fans. Some of them are hysterical, some of them are classic, some even made me tear. Check it out if you get the chance.

Saw some highlights of the parade...what was with Manny Ramirez and that sign "Jeter is playing Golf today?" Wow...SOOOO classy Red Sox!!! I watched every Yankee parade and they never made any nasty comments about the Red Sox like that. In fact, I don't recall Jeter or Bernie or any Yankee ever saying something stupid like that about the Red Sox organisation.

It's one thing to win...but to win with class seems above these Red Sox. All you have to do is listen to Cabrerra after the final out. "The Red Sox are the greatest team ever in baseball. We will dominate the League."

It's almost as if they have an inferiority complex.

Ugh...

Also, a fan handed him that sign. He didn't make it himself.

very mature. There's a thing we call "graceful winners." A few of these current Red Sox and the whole fanbase in general aren't showing that. The "Yankees suck" chant was real upper cuff too.

But hey...we are talking about AMERICAN sports fans after all.
