A 1200 Question

So i just got a pair of MK2s and I already have a question about them. I think there might be something wrong with my stobe-illuminator or maybe the platter. I look at the little circles on the outside of the platter while the tables is spinning. The big one is supposed to stand still right? well its not. It looks like it moves ahead about 1 big circle then jumps back, but without a pattern to it. The actual stobe does seem to flicker just a bit. Im not really sure whats going on at all. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Karl

I took a deeper look into my problem-
The power of the turntables, on both players, seems to surges in and out slightly at about one-second intervals; both the small red strobe light on each table surges in and out, and the spinner of each table does as well, which casues the music to have a persistent dipping-in-and-out in volume and speed. Please help me, as this problem is very disconverting. - that was written by my friend who is an english grad student. i can't write that good but he can:)

ummm.... take them into an authorized dealer to have them looked at...
that's pretty much the only advice i can offer at this time, someone else might have a better and easier solution

Something dodgy with your power supply maybe? How much stuff do you have hooked up to your outlets - just tables, mixer and amp, or do you have PA stuff as well? If it's taking too much current then that could cause the power supply to fluctuate and the tables could be turning on and off very quickly. Maybe if you lived in India or somewhere then it could just be a bad power supply, but I very much doubt that's the problem in Albany!
I can't believe that its a problem with the 1200s themselves, not if its happening to both.

I agree, if its happening to them both then it is unlikey to be a prob with the tables themselves. Also you shouldn't be able to see the strobe flickering at all (it should be too fast for the human eye). Are they brand new or second hand?

Yeah you should the see the strobe like you said. Also check the voltage selector, under the plate, but I think it's the power supply.

Thanks for the info guys. I just got them brand new from Mars Music. Im gonna try plugging them into to other sockets around my dorm to see if they work. If they don't I guess i'll go talk to the guys at Mars. Oh yeah, the voltage selector should be on the 200-240 one right (I think thats the #)?
