my latest song ---> http://fileserv6.soundclick.com/fas...e+03falling.mp3
instruments are
vanguard (both gated pads)
albino (bass)
supersaw v0.6 (first off beat synth line)
superwave trance pro (second off beat synth line)
rgc soundfont player (thats the guitar)
all drums are single shot freebies off the net.
i have been unable to include the live acoustic guitar improv over the top (cuz i have no mic and preamp). ahh well. i hope to be able to get it on there for a possible future update. just need to book some studio time. may also replace the soundfont guitar with my acoustic cuz it sounds nicer. :tongue3
all comments and suggestions welcome. |

This track has loads of potential, because the melodies are nice and the chords set a really nice mood. The guitar melody is really good, it would be cool to hear your acoustic guitar in there!
Just play a bit with the production side of things, try compressing the kick+bass together and making their levels even.
Be careful when the bright gated pads kick in, they seem to be in the same frequency range + panning as the hats - either eq or pan them differently.
And maybe play around with the filters a bit on the synths, add a bit of variation.
I'd love to hear this polished up a bit, I really like the mood of it, especially the guitar and gated pads, they're lush :) |

| yea i know what you mean. when the pad kicks in the hats literally disappear. hey half the track literally disappears. i couldnt make the bass any louder without it distorting or the kick distorting. even when i notched off 100 to 300 hz on the bass. the bass needs to come up though deffo agreed on that. good suggestion on the filter - ive been itching to twiddle the filter cutoff on vanguard. im in a bit of a pickle about that because if i start on the heavy EQing im gonna lose the dynamic i already got. but heck theres an undo button. ill do some corrections tommorow and repost. thanks for the feedback man. |

| new updated version available at same link. bassline has now been compressed, first off beat supersaw now fades in with a slow filter sweep, guitar melody changes post breakdown, cleaned up the end so that it relaunches nicely with a snare roll and a reverse LFO sweep and its 4 bars this time not 6 (my bad). overall sounds a bit smoother and transitions better. im gonna work on the gated pad EQing tonight. thats gonna be the big one :eyespop: |
