What's the consensus on Tiësto's musical style lately?

I've listened to some gigs, recently ...from Q2 and Q3
of the year, and I can't wrap my mind around the musical
style he's selected at this time.

Thoughts ?

Is trance over and done with ?

i agree.
seems like he's searching for a maximum in sellout and popularity.
here in germany trance music is hard to find, i would call it a "state of cheese" but since his last productions and shows, even my cheese listening friends know and like tiesto. to be honest, i dislike that and i hope thats not the new trend in trance music.

i think it gets to that point with everyone being on the market for a while
tiesto has been around for a while now, so hes gotta go down in "morals" and try and target the teeny boppers...noobs and all that

where as you get a lot of new dj's that are a lot more punky and wanna get away from the whole popularity contest thing...sad thing is that one day or another they'll prolly stoop down to it too...just to save face and money

He went from gold to crap, that's all I wanna say....

Starting from 2004, Tiesto is fired !

At least regarding performing on my CD player...
with 2004 material.

it's a classic in my cd collection now. I really like his transition. Some quality on there IMO. I might just go put it on....

but, i've completely stopped listening to tiesto's livesets, for the above reasons. There's a lot more originality and freedom in those "lower" [ :whip: ] on the ratings list.

Ah yes another thread about Tiësto :P

I reall was addicted to his albums & livesets back ariund 1999,2000, with innercity 2000 and TE 2000 as the best.
After that i only found the quality oh his music & style trending downwards and downwards, indeed because he's just looking for the way to make the most money and fame asap..

it's a shame, but nothing can be done about it.

Yep trance is dead. It overdosed on extacy yesterday night. It was found lying in an alley by a midnight jogger. Here's a quote from the jogger describing trance's last moments of life: "Oh crap I'm late for work.....will continue story tomorrow

Whatever. His commercial album, Just Be, yea ok I'll give an inch that he's after "teenie-boppers" and "mainstream" audiences. But the fact remains that if he sells over 500,000 albums I'll crap myself. That may sound like a lot, but in a country of 270 some million people, it's just not. Here in the US, few people know of him. This sad country is dominated by House and Hip-Hop, proving that we must always be 10 years behind Europe.

But his stand alone releases have been just phenominal. Theme from Noerthjuzel (I don't know the sp)? Awesome. Ancient History? Awesome. Even love comes again was good; spare me the "But BT blows-sells out-licks ass crap." It's tired.

I think he's getting much better as a producer, and very much look forward to what he does in the coming years.

his music style sucks
hes a commercial sellout just in it for the money the scene can do without people like that
