I decided that for my senior year project (major part of my English grade), I am going to do a presentation on EDM. If anybody knows of some good, CREDIBLE sources (not Ishkur's) for the various genres of EDM (especially those not covered here on TA), I would appreciate it if you posted them here.
Specifically, I'm looking for sites that either describe the genres or compare/contrast the structures of multiple ones, if that makes any sense. Also, maybe if anyone knows some quotes from DJs related to EDM in society, that would be great as well.

| There are no credible sources on the various genres of edm. No matter who you ask you'll always get a slightly different story. |

| ^ exactly! when you start branching down into obscure subgenres, no one has the same definatition of what it is! |

genre is a construct so there is no real way to define it. You can only sample from it and approximate it.
maybe you should start your own credible source for it. |

Well then if there aren't such credible sources, how about some of you guys give your opinions, and the things that are generally agreed upon I'll consider as "fact." Kind of like hearing news from multiple sources and deciding for myself what is fact.

| search for the 'genre map' on TA forums. it is one of the better explanation of how things branched out and it will be a good visual start for your presentation |

Did you try A Shory History of Trance thread? I posted some article and links there that may be of interest. |
