CSAW - CYBER SECURITY AWARENESS WEEK - WIN ATTRACTIVE CASH PRIZES!!!
As part of our 150th anniversary celebrations, the computer science
department at Polytechnic is organizing a cyber security awareness week at
Poly from Nov 8 to 10th. As part of the week we plan 5 competitive events
open to all NY area students.
1) A student essay competition. Topic of essay is "Are usability and
security two opposite directions in computer systems?"
2) A quiz competition
3) A capture the flag competition
4) A student research poster competition
5) A forensic investigation competition
Each event will have a first prize of 500 dollars, second prize of 300
dollars and third prize of 100 dollars.
In addition we will organize numerous security awareness classes at
Polytechnic, distribute posters, security tools etc. and generally bring
security to the forefront during that week. The events will end with a
award and dinner ceremony on Wednesday, November 10th between 4 and 6 pm.
We have a couple of guests from NSA who will preside over the event and
also a few guests from industry.
