dont bother downloading DRM protected files, you CANT view them yourself for the simple reason that the licance given to someone ONLY works with the corresponding UNIQUE windows media player. In other words, you can only watch the video from the same computer that has the licence, you can't watch it on any other computer.
How to bypass this?
- Use the video out of your computer and link it to the video in of another computer and record what you see. Downside: loss of quality (re-encoding an encoded video video file)
Ohter possibilities? NO
- You can't use program's like FRAPS to capture your screen output since FRAPS records a different overlay. You'll only record blanc video.
- Freeme.exe doesnt work, it's bitching about a key file that turns out to be too big and then terminates the program.
- You can't use conversion programs since what you have recorded is ENCRYPTED video (all bits are encrypted) only WMP (windows media player) can decrypt the file with the licence key. All other programs won't recognize your file because the header is encrypted too.
Blame Microsoft :) Happy recording :p |

should work for those who also got a license yesterday
the license is not stored in the wmv file but somewhere within windows media player
so each computer with the license installed shout be able to play the file |
