Songs that would not have been released if the DJ wasn't famous.

You know the story, its much easier to get a release if you are a famous DJ or producer, and this can lead to some from the stars.

So what are of the songs released by the big boys and girls that would not have hit the airwaves if your unknown artist created them?

My pics:

Tiesto - Theme From Norefjell.

Paul van Dyk - Crush

maybe that tiesto track. it was simple but somehow people liked it anyway. but crush is a decent track, it's not amazing but it'd get released either way. and it's not exactly by pvd mate.

the tiesto track was very old.. and popular at the time.. it fit in with tracks like fridge - paradise, spoiled and zigo more and more and what ever was floating around between 98 - 00

but the sound is very simple.. i love the track personally.. but to add to it

i would say

rank 1 - our religion
blank and jones - electric circus
Kerosin - Position (Dj Scot Project Remix)

to naem a few

It's not like tiesto was THAT famous at the time of Norefjell anyway.. known maybe, but not really famous. Came out on Magik 3 so it was well before his Innercity performance which really got him recognised.

'Traffic' though.. probably.

...also Paul van Dyk - Nothing But You

Okay, my choices were rather personal ones, and maybe not clearcut choices to fit in with the thread title.

I really liked the start, the build up, in this track, but the progression past the intro was totally e.

Its like he spent months building the start, and 10 minutes with the rest...

Crush (Vanit Dub) is okay... but remember... SECOND SUN probably did a lot more work on this track than PvD.

Second Sun kicks arse.
beats and beeps
A large amount of the techno tracks put out by the big names in techno.
