Haha. With the election so close, I think it speaks volumes that the Republicans feel that Cheney would best serve the campaign by heading 2000 miles away from the mainland... :stongue: |

Yeah, because it means that things are going well elsewhere, and they can afford to send him.
A Hawaii win is also a second way for Bush to get what he needs in the electoral vote count. With Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa, Bush doesn't need Ohio to win - he get's to 269 votes assuming you add most of the states he won last time. And a Hawaii victory on top of that puts him over the top.
Considering the campaign is in Ohio at this very moment, and will be heading to Wisconsin tomorrow, you can pretty much see the strategy playing out. |
