What's your theme tune?!

Hey folks,

Just out of interest was curious to know what you would consider the track that you associate yourself with the most. For the pro DJs out there what track do you like letting people know that you are in the house with?

If a warm up DJ has been playing breaks before me, the track I love dropping is Zero - Emit/Collect (Rennie Pilgrem versiou). That track just freaking rocks.

If a more proggy DJ has been playing before me I love Afterburn-
Winter Sun to break the plod up.

If I play the last set of the night (2 to 4 usually) I like to kick it off with Agnelli and Nelson - Holding onto nothing.

It will always depend a little on what was played before me and the key but those are three tracks that I see get a wicked response on the dancefloor everytime I play them. They just kinda make people look up even if they are a little old. They may not be the first track I play in my set but I know once I have played one of those then I'll be in the mood.

Be curious to see what you guys think are those tracks for you.

Cheers

Not any specific tracks as such but I always try to include at least 1 breakbeat tune (or at least a tune containing breakbeat elements) to my sets. Lately I've been using tracks like Way Out West - Anything But You, Elite Force - Driving Me Crazy, Tiësto - Heroes, Hampshire & Nysse feat. Nikita - Eternal Voices (Tiësto Alternative Breaks Mix) and so on.

As you can see most of those are fairly trancelike (apart from the beats, obviously) so they fit into the sets well while giving a new twist to the set. Too bad that kind of stuff doesn't really get released much.

Only just found out that Born Slippy - Nuxx mixes fairly well with some James Ruskin and Oscar Mulero tracks I have. Haven't tried it in public as I don't spin out yet, and it might be cheesy beyond reason, but still.. It does sound good.

For signature tunes (as I like to call it), I almost always use Steve Rachmad - Maluma (or Malhela, which is a bit tougher) in my mixes, and have heard it in only a single other set I've heard this year, though it has been released in January already (I think)..

I have a few. If I have to name one it's Merge: 'Armageddon' as I end nearly all my sets with it (unless I'm playing early in the night ;) )but I'd say the following are my main 'theme tunes':

Merge; 'Armageddon'
Mauro Picotto: 'Lizard' (RAF by Picotto remix)
Wavestorm: 'Rock The Party'
Jurrane: 'More Than Love'

My style is bouncy, pumping trance so generally these fit right in. :D

The A team

But seriously, it changes all the time- although for the past year i normally played a Mylo tune early on. 'In my arms' over some drum loops or a drum-a-pella quite often. Nice tune.

In really commercial places (although to be honest would probably work on most floors if programmed right), then its David morales- 'needin U' or 'Kathys passion' (gat decor vs kathy brown ) when it starts to fill up....full of energy and marks a transition from early doors to main programme.

I can see Shawn Christopher- 'its magic' (bobby blanco mix) (ith records) being 'my' tune for the forseeable future- absolutely adore it and been getting a great reaction.
