Hey All
Im having a problem concerning compression via a track im producing in Cubase.
When appliying a 5:1 ratio, 1-10 attack, a release of roughly 40 and then a gain reduction between 5 to 15 to a kick; when I play the track the first kick turns into a click rather than a full whack drum. I'm only using 50% of my CPU on VSTs and just wondered if the attack on the compressor could be causing this?
Thanks in advance |

Never mind the ratios and numbers, use your ears until the track your compressing sounds right. You can also use visualization tools to assist you seeing if you actually compressed the track and to what degreee.
I use a mix of both, as my ears are not fully trained yet. The goal is to just use your ears, or to just know exactly what your doing lol. |

This happens to most people... Solution: Move the entire song to start at the second bar instead of the first. Play from the first anyway so you get a 1 bar pause.
Problem solved, hopefully... :) |
