People are willing to pay for it, so why not? Same can be said about athletes.

Now that you've had a look at that, where does all of the money for that come from?

hey dumb ass! its called financing! no company is able to fund a project merely with the holdings in their bank(unless you are microsoft). they borrow money, in the hopes/knowledge that they will get it all back +a bit more(profit)

fact is music artists only see about one dollar for every CD they sell (if that much) and aproximatley $2.25 for every DVD they sell....doesn't matter whether you are DJ Tiesto or Madonna....

Have you ever heard of a little something called "over-head"?

come on tiesto is probably got hundreds and thousands of pounds in the bank.
how cant see why a dj should get paid in excess of 5k a set

Like i said Tiesto doesn't get that much from DVD sales....he won't sell enough...he will be lucky to make $30,000 of the TIC DVD sales...and thta figure is WAY high....

Stop and think for a minute. Where do they get the funding for all of this? It's not like they have a huge $1,000,000,000 vault where they pull money from whenever they want to put on an event. ID&T gets a ton of the money. It's also been proven that artists see barely any of the money from CD and DVD sales.

If I'm wrong, then answer this...

1.) They had to pay for the multiple live acts, including Cirque de Soleil, and the person who's considered Holland's most prominent magician.

2.) They had to rent the arena. That costs money.

3.) They had to build a tremendously large set for this event. Not mentioning the lighting companies they had to pay to set-up the lighting for the stadium, and the fireworks-professionals.

4.) They have to pay royalites to put the music on the DVD and release it, otherwise putting it out there would be illegal.

5.) They have to pay people who worked behind the scenes at the event.

6.) They have to pay for the people to spend their time working on the DVD and producing it. They also have to pay for the physical production/pressing of the DVD itself, which no doubt will sell quite a few copies.

erm.... tickets sales maybe think about it abit will ya

I don't really understand why it is you are against DJs getting paid more then 5K per set. Why does it matter to you? Do you want these DJs to be poor? Or do you want them to take their passion of music and live a fruitful life?

Makes no sense to me why you hate it so much.:conf:

there a big difference with what tiesto does though ill give u an example.

- if a club said to tiesto ill pay u 10k to come dj for us then take it its the club stupid fault for wanting to pay it
- what tiesto does though is he demands that ammount to dj now thats wrong hes clearly seeing pounds signs if he really loved the music that much he wouldnt put such a high price tag on himself.

cose these stupid fees r the reason why alot of club r shutting down and the reason why most of ur favourite clubs arent doing events on such a regular basis.

Well that may be the case in England where you live, but in the U.S. that is simply not the case. I have never heard of one instance of a club closing because the DJs requested too much money.

I can see how you are mad since you said it...but remember this is there DJs careers and not their hobbies. Tiesto does not have a day job he makes money from and DJs at night for extra cash. This is his only means of income. Yes he is succesful and i say good for him.

To purely hate him for it i feel is wrong. It all comes back to supply and demand.

I dont know what to tell you....i see your point and it sucks that clubs are closing and parties arent as frequent but that's life. Nothing we can do about it. All i know is that this is not the case in the U.S..

Sorry man.

don't bloody support them then! no-one's forcing you...

i'm happy to buy their albums, go to their gigs... for me the feeling they give me is worth the money, and if they make a load of money then i say congratulations to them!

back to the topic at hand....a TIC 2 dvd....

i didnt get a chance to listen to or watch any of the streams from over the weekend. if this one comming out is anything at all like the first dvd, i cant wait to order my copy. i still watch the first one all the time.

all i have to say is whatever it costs, tiesto better shell out the money to put silence on this one. still bothers me a little that he didnt put it on the last one.
