Very nice post, Lira! ;)
Great choices, Sand Leaper! How could I forget about Blade Runner and Shawshank? :wtf:
This thread makes me want to watch more movies :D
...
btw I just got done watching Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon again. If you haven't seen this film, I urge you to go do so as soon as you can - it's worth watching it as early in life as possible. |

Ronin - my fave, in my opinion also the best action movie to date.
some other action titles include:
Where Eagles Dare
Saving Private Ryan
Dirty Harry (all)
Bullitt
Band of Brothers (a mini series but w/e)
Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels.
Big trouble in little china.
Aliens
Platoon
Man on Fire
Ghost Dog
Léon
Predator
Boondock Saints
Die Hard
Matrix (1st one..as far as im concerned the other two movies had no correlation with this one, they were just poor.)
drama/the rest:
Shawshank Redemption
Pi
Lawrence of Arabia (although it is a war movie, i see it as more of a biopic of what the effects of war are on a man)
Office Space
Usual Suspects |

Not all of us, I have posted only 1 movie, not an enormous list :)

Or, we just have trouble choosing just one. |

Indeed. Most of us don't have that "one film" we worship - there are many different films, with different topics that we like. That's like choosing your favourite tune ever. An ordinary person will be in doubt, as there's a house tune they love, a trance tune they adore, a drum'n'bass tune that we can't stop listening to... all these tunes may be excellent in this person's opinion, but they're so different they'd rather not pick just one. Besides, it's not harming/offending anyone, as we've all been given the opportunity to speak - if you don't agree with that person's method or way to deal with things, just skip that post and keep reading. Simple as that.
If you see "self-love" whoring in something as common as saying what our favourite films are, this is more likely to be something from your personality rather than something felt by the posters.
edit: Even the thread started listed more than 1 title, so it's natural we're all inclined to do the same thing. |

I don't think I can choose a definite favourite. A few film's that I i will never tire of though include:
Usual Suspects
Fight Club
The Shawshank Redemption
Pulp Fiction
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Groundhog Day
American History X
Godfather
Clockwork Orange
Reservoir Dogs
Trainspotting
Kevin & Perry Go Large :haha:
etc. :D
I do think the one film that really does have everything though is Usual Suspects. Quality acting, superb storyline, comedy, action, suspense, and quite possibly the most brilliant ending of all time. Maybe this is my favourite? Not sure :) |
