Vote For John F. Kerry (pg. 2)

NeoPhono I agreed with the gist of what you said that even if Kerry is elected things won't change a lot. But there are other things to consider like new appointees to the Supreme Court. The Conservatives have a strangle hold on 2 out of the 3 branches of government. The last bastion is the Supreme Court and we can ill afford for that to fall into their hands.

With a republican congress it will be hard for Kerry to get anything through, but we still got to give him a chance, the alternative, another term of bush, is unthinkable. One thing Kerry has better chance of doing is mending the damage bush has done to our foreign credibility and bring the Iraq debacle to quicker conclusion.

I really wanted to vote for Nader because he would really change things for the better, too bad he doesn't stand a chance, and this time I can't afford to vote my conscience and allow bush to get re-elected.

Ok I'm getting ready to go down and cast my Kerry vote let's cross our fingers and hope he wins.

wrong! kerry would never have Gone into Irak in the first place, and therefore would never had needed all the extra funding for the war. whats bush asking for next another 70 billion. There would not be over 1000 dead american Soldiers and there would not be a new generation of new redical Islamist nor an wave of anti-american sentiment across the globe. The economie is in large control by the action a nation takes. IE. a war in Irak. If i recall under the previous Democratic presidency, the economie was at an all time high. Unfortunatly, Clinton isn't running this time. Kerry is the closes thing you have to going in the right direction. So make the intelligent choise. Vote Kerry

I think you can make the argument that Clinton got lucky due to the fact that the internet boom occurred under his watch. This created an entirely new market place and helped increase commerce by allowing people to shop without going anywhere.

Had this happened to any other president, theyd also have had records surplusses with a great economic record...

So Kerry both voted to go into Iraq and was a vocal supporter at the time, but would never have gone into Iraq? Interesting.

I really hope people aren't expecting drastic changes if Kerry is elected president. His voting record and actions in the past, along with the entire democrat party in the last 20 years lead me to believe that little if anything will really change. Remember, when it comes to the economy, the president has little control, and when it comes to the budget, war and defecit spending, congress has to approve virtually everything. Even though Bush wanted to go into Iraq, congress approved it. Even though Bush wanted to go into defecit spending, congress approved it as well.

The only thing I can see changing is Kerry will propose higher taxes. However, if the Republican congress stays in control, that will not happen. There is no way his health care reforms will pass through congress, nor will any broad-impacting environmental or regulatory legislation.

So, as I walk into the polling place today, I'll throw my arms up in the air and vote for the incumbent. In the end I'd rather have the stability of an incumbent president that at least preaches lower taxes and smaller government, even if it is all campaign bs, then a new president, who will continue in the same manner as the one before.

Don't believe what the candidates have said during their campaigns, 99.9% is said to make you vote for them and will never come to fruition. And you know what, there's absolutely no way to hold them accountable for it, at least for four years. Look at the way both their parties have voted for the last 25 years, and you'll notice that in the end, you really only have one choice for president.

NeoPhono,
The eternal pessimist

Well, if you like stability, then you should have voted for Kerry, because every his decision would be double-checked by the congress, which would effectively result in a centrist government. Bush, on the other hand, would usually have the congress support behind him, so it's something that would pusht the country more far to the right, than would Kerry's election push it to the left.

Dont forget about POLAND

Actually...just because Poland is helping you in Iraq doesn't mean the Polish people would elect Bush. Look at Britain, your strongest ally. Tony Blair might very well LOSE his next election because he supported Bush. The Brits can't stand your Fuhrer.
