"......one of the most important values possessed by those who truly love this music/lifestyle is a tolerant attitude. That means a global, non-militaristic, non-religious, liberal outlook."
You say our kind of people must have a tolerant attitude, yet you described what YOU want our scene to be. NOT very tolerant, if you ask me. I'm global, militaristic, religious, and a moderate conservative. I absolutely love this music, and have since about '98.
Oh, and I respect PLUR, but PLUR is certainly not a definition of political view but rather actions that should be taken while partying or enjoying our type of music. If anything, it's RELIGIOUS because it preaches many good rules/ideals (note, I did not say a certain religion, just that I'm generally speaking). |

i have been in the edm seen from 1989 on. I dont know PLUR means. what does that make me? Do you know the song JAMES BROWN IS DEAD? Its one of the original techno songs. I was listenign to that and mixing with it before it even hit the charts. Damn what an education. |
LoL you've been into edm since 1989 and you dont know what PLUR means?!?!.. I mean, I could understand late comers that got directly into trance in an era where the Rave scene went strictly underground, if not, disappeared. Back in those days, the EDM was in a stricly underground state, and every soul that has been into it since early 90's must.. I mean, someway or another, Must have gotten an idea of what PLUR means. The raves was the only place where you could hear that word, or party's . I got into the scene late 1999, and the first thing I learned whent I got into trance.. was the Rave scene, hence it was the only place where I could go and enjoy this music.. the ravers.. and the ravers identified themselves with PLUR..
And yes, I know that song JAMES BROWN IS DEAD, great song, I still hear it today.. early rave songs.. I just dont see how you can not know PLUR lol.. is like, been into trance since the beginning and not know who Tiesto is.. know what I mean?!?!.. Im not challenging you or anything, but, what, or where did you exactly go?!?!.. I mean, even Tigerclaw knows what it means. heh. :nervous:
PS: As for Bush and he's people hurting the scene. Well, Im waiting to see what's up with this. Miami now has a Republican major, and this people ARE not flexible when they make up their mind on something, far off, understanding. Im really scared of what sort of decisions he might take, or get influenced by he's NEO con buddies when it comes to the WMC/Ultra and clubbing lifestyle here in Miami. |

| Ya man many good times! Hm well around 89 or I started Djing dance music and I went to my first club in Europe. The girls loved the whole dj thing. Nothing but bad ass dance mucic, for that time. Like dance your ass ass offf. I still have some old records and its really funny to listen to them today. It was so archaic. Then after high school and a semester of college I joined the USAF and went to England. Wow so kewl for some one who loves EDM. I was buying new music evey monday for like 4 years. I dont even remember all the places I went too. hehe. I do believe the reason I do not know of PLUR is because I already lived my life that way. For the most part. |

| this has got to be the most absurd collection of thoughts in the history of stupid posts. first off dawntreader you off i can vote for whoever the hell i want and listen to whatever music i like because guess what its a free country. Yeah i voted for Bush what r you going to do make me listen to hip-hop or r&b or maybe country, you're ridiculous, I love electronica and always will. My political views have nothing to do with my music and for you to try to relate the too is simply pathetic and i think you were just looking for some drama and i hope you're happy that you got it. and my next bone to pick is who the cares what PLUR is i don't know and i couldn't care more hahaha listen to the damn music that the dj is playing have some drinks and dance your ass off, thats partying not whether you know what PLUR is or not. when you try to categorize someone's music preference or partying ability by who they vote for or whether they know what plur is or not makes me wonder how you're allowed to post on this site. |

I wouldn't dare try to tell anyone who to vote for. I voted Libertarian, so you can imagine how many people have told me that I throw my vote away, but just keep in mind that the man you want to be president wants the music that you listen to to go away. To him, it inspires drug use and hedonism, and it defies his god because of the "hippy-like" culture that it spawned.
I'm sure you have other reasons for voting for Bush that have nothing to do with music, but think about how much more of it would come from this country if the scene were allowed to thrive. How much domestic trance do you listen to? Why? Because most of it sucks. Why? Because we can't foster the scene to inspire quality music. For now, you can have your cake and eat it to. Reap the benefits of another country's liberal nature. Enjoy it while you can. He is his father's son. If he has it his way, the political agenda formerly known as the New World Order will be set in motion. |

no one is telling you what you can or can't listen to... i think his point is that the man you voted for and his self-righteous political cronies would have it that we can't party at clubs all night ::cough cough:: rave act ::cough cough:: So how are you gonna feel when promoters can't bring Tiesto, PvD, AvB, Ferry, Sander, etc. into town because they'll get arrested, fined big time, and go to jail if someone gets caught with a joint. He's not saying someone can't vote Bush & like EDM, he's just saying Bush would like to take the way we currently get to enjoy EDM away... and I agree (although not with a lot of the other banter on her). |
