It depends what instrument you're using from FL. Go to kvr-vst.com and download some good VSTis that are suitable for trance. Synth1 and Triangle II are free and produce very high quality sounds. Let us know :)

put cutoff on 92% res on 10% env on 100% now adjust the cutoff from 0 to 100% to create the kinda of effect you want i belive. where it starts as just a weak sound then in about 10 or 30seconds it goes to this enormous sound. to automate this just select a open playlist track then put it on play entire track then press play and R to start recording then do the desired adjustments and then press r to end the recording and now its automated to do that for you. i think this should help if it doesnt sorry.

its depends on the filter on the synth. some filters behave slightly differently between synths. albino's filter cutoff has this awkward resonant kind of feel when its turned up. after 1/4 of the way round the rotary the bass becomes thin and it starts to sound a bit sharp in the mid range area. i find this annoying because the transition isnt that smooth and the difference between low pass and bandpass is gigantic. makes it hard to make, thick, clean basses. and it makes it hard to filter sweep smoothly on low pass.

vanguard has a smooter cutoff for making those classic trance filter sweeps but it does artefact when you turn it up quickly.

the nord lead 2x filter was MUCH smoother than both of the above although the resonance rotary does weird things on lowpass that absolutely kills the bass which is annoying.

i hear the virus filter cutoff is very smooth and accelerate nicely into a sweep. i hear lots of good things about the virus filter but you get what you pay for in the end.
