i consider some of the sounds in techno can be 'experimental' lots of techno isn't. but any time some freaky, unfamiliar sounds enter the equation, i'll tack on the 'experimental' slogan to the music. but thats just me. and most of the time i'm really digging marks sets...i've just on occasion experienced a blog of repetitive nothing for 30mins b4. but other nites, marks on a roll and playing some awesome choons!!! i dont' want ppl to get me wrong though, becuase i really like techno, prog, house, along with trance to...i just like something fresh, because a lot of it can sound the same after awhile if nothing is done to freshen it up and add new directions to the music...etc. |

LOL i dont get this experimental thing.... a lot of the stuff that ive been hearing lately is old skool sounds redone in a new skool way. If its experimental its only because you arent old enough to remember :)
Techno is the new trance... (for popularity that is)...oliver is just a step before his time as usual. Who else but MArk (other than dr trance) was playing trance back in 98 in Toronto at least on a large scale?
If i remember it was all about house music back then
Personally i think a good dj can mix it up. Any dj who plays all trance, all techno or all house bores me even if i like the genre |
