because it's a great job if you are going to school because of the hours, and also it's kind of like a social life...especially if you work at a club...and like you said, it's great money.
i'm acquaintances with a cocktail waitress at the Opium Garden in south beach, which is a pretty happening spot, and she told me there's a lot of money to be made. the least amount of money you'll make on a Friday night is around $450-500...and that's on an OK night. i would imagine you can make up to a grand in one night. but there are a lot of politics involved i'm sure, and you don't just get hired and start working the best shifts. you have to earn the good ones, etc... that's how it is in the restaurant business, it's probably worse in the bar tending/club scene. |

When I was 18 I worked as a bartender in a wine bar cum restaurant and the job was quite fun. Living in an affluent area meant a lot of people paying example £3 for a beer, throwing you a £5 note and telling you yo keep the change. In the UK it isn't customary to leave tips for the bartender
Made good money, met some interesting people, management was shocking |

| I wonder if I become a regular at some bar would it make it easier for me to get a job. Btw I already make killer drinks, it's just I heard your suppose to get a license for it, either that or the place you go to school is supposed to help place you. |

Do you have to be 21 to server alcohol?
I think you do, but few years(like two) someone told me that its enough if you are 18+ |

i think i might go for it, even though my parents think i'm alcoholic.
then again they think it's abnormal for 20 somethings to go out on weekends and drink. |

Weekend bartender as well...
Great $$ and not too much work (cuz I used to be a server, and that's way more work)
Never went to school for it, trained for 3 weeks and I got the job
It's fun and a great job IMO :D |

dude the downside is that you see a whole lotta in the club scene that makes things worse for you - then when you get a night off and go out it's just not as much fun as it is before
theres too many downsides for me to name |
