It seems alot of people thought Kerry was going to win early in the night. However we have found in all likely hood he is going to lose. These are the 2 biggest problems I think the Democrats made in this election now that its over. Feel free to add.

#1 Making Kerry their candidate
#2 Choosing a running mate who cant win his own state

The democrats lost the most easy to win election ever.

Sad

i agree to a certain extent. i think the dems could have selected a better vp nominee. i also think the dems ran a lousy campaign. their campaign managers were the s.

I personally think Edwards is a stronger candidate than Kerry, but he is young and that would've gone against him. Kerry's campaign didn't respond fast enough to Bush's attacks... there's plenty of things that could be said why their campaign lost, but i wont dwell too much.

Is it possible that Kerry's seeming strength in the days leading up to the election was just an illusion unwittingly created by the media? As I watched the long faces of most of the major TV commentators on election night,...... it was obvious how disappointed they were.

I just wonder if their own preferences for the liberal party didn't cause them to see the opinion of the country differently than it actually was..... Did their own views actually cause them to be out of touch with the mainstream of America, and therefore miss and not report what was actually going on in our country?..... The pessimists might say they were actually trying to create Democratic momentum, but I'm not sure I'd agree. I think they were just so far removed from the heartland, they could not tell what was going on.

I think America choose Bush because Kerry was unknown and it scared the hell outta Americans. We all choose bad politicians at times, hell Canada had Brian Mulroney for 9 yrs then Chretien for 10years. Which the first was horrible..
