I agree with Shakka. Who didn't expect this forum to get a little heated over the next few days? Relax, folks, a lot of people are merely blowing off some steam.
Now pointed, racist, stupid remarks are another matter altogether. But aside from that, just be patient. The flow will die down, things will return back to normal eventually, and we'll all be back to our normal routine of partisan bickering again at one another.:D
Not that I wouldn't want to see Occ as a mod., but I think y'all just need to be a little patient. Besides, I think Occ's a little busy with his own jobby job right now anyway.;) The mods here have been respectful and fair, and I personally see no reason for a change anyway. |

Yeah, I mean we've lasted pretty well so far, so I don't think that a mod would have to do too much in here. Just a "calm down lads" in heated threads and closing the odd redundant thread and that'd be it. Most people who come in here just to troll seem to burn out and get bored pretty quickly so it's not like we're in danger of being over-run or anything (well, once these election threads die down that is).

I think you're selling us a bit short. The idiots don't come in here that often and they tend to be ignored pretty easily when they do. Most discussions are civil and productive, if a little passionate at times. But yeah, a mod would definitely help with keeping out the undesirables that do derail threads from time to time. |

| What I want to know is why the mods explicitely refused when we proposed a new moderator to take place of one of the old ones. It's pretty obvious that none of the current mods ever venture in here and that you can pretty much keep spamming with 20 equal threads and writing posts with font size 50 and go unpunished. Some people don't even look at existing threads and they just start new ones with exactly the same contents. So someone should squeeze all that stuff into a single thread and tell those people who keep spaming that they should stop it. Unfortunately I have a feeling that the current mods think that having the status of a moderator is some sort of a great aristocratic priviledge and that they should keep it at all costs and prevent others from getting that same status. |
