American Massive

for those of that havent seen this documentary about the american rave scene i suggest you see it. its good to actually get to hear and see what some of the not more main stream dj's think about the whole "rave scene", and the hype that surrounds it.

its nice to see clips of parties that arent held in super venues like the guv. it gets a little sad as well when they show the cops harrasing some kids for practically nothing.

so if you havent seen it....watch it.

American Massive - DVD (Moonshine)
Floorwhore
very poor production, moonshines lazy attempt to portray, August 6, 2003

The people at Moonshine are obviously not in touch with the scene and just looking for another way in which to make a dollar on the basis that consumers do not know any better. I purchased the dvd regretfully and I was ashamed and disappointed. I let it go as a used title at the local record shop for 5 bucks. The dvd gives a very pathetic description and insight at the rave scene through their eyes and accounts and does very little for the people who truly know what music and the party scene is really about and what it represents. I think more thought and better selection of content would have made for a much better dvd and a representation of what party people and the music is all about. If you enjoy seeing young kids misrepresenting parties and the false advertisements on drugs/music/the like then this is your dvd. I could have compiled a better narrative and take on the activities myself from my own experiences. No disrespect to the artist involved but the production/Moonshine should be giving this away not selling it--especially for the asking price.

i somewhat agree, it could be better, i know almost little to nothing about the rave scene so i just found what they had to say interesting. it kind of gave me a different view to what im used to though and i thought was worth a look.

I saw the previews of it on the Ferry Corsten DVD that came with his CD...but I wasn't really impressed, I guess mainly cause i'm not really interested in the American rave scene so much and the DJs on that DVD aren't anything of interest to me either :p

If it just kinda fell into my lap I'd watch it tho :D

Yeah, it made me wanna go party my face off too.
I liked American Massive. Very good documentary - not representative of how things are today, but interesting nonetheless.
