Haha, sorry for laughing but thats just too funny...anyway, who am I to talk I do the same thing. The way I look at it is if a track were available, I'd buy it, but if its not why should I be kept from playing it? I mean, if the chance truly has no chance of being released or its a bootleg to begin with, I don't see anything wrong with playing an MP3. But this track in particular will eventually be released, so its a different story. Sorry for bringing this up again.
Don't worry Max, everyone who DJs is gonna buy the vinyl once its out...MP3s just whet our appetites for the plastic. |

| I see max's point, but I think as long as the dj isn't profiting from the track in any way shape or form, doesn't it just help the track get promoted by more people hearing it? |

no because it diminishes the likely hood of compilation signings and being picked up by a major if its floating around on random downloadable sets on the net...the nothing less nothing more argument could not be farther from the truth
...trust me i have studied this.
again once a track is release i have no problem with it being passed around as music is to be loved and heard. ripping from an armin van buuren or markus schulz live set for your own is lame. of course i accept its going to happen (no im not going to stop producing) but i have as much right to complain about it happening as anything since i put the original work into putting this project together. if im a step away from a major dj putting it on a comp and he hears its on a bunch of random sets on TA, it may well diminish the chance that it goes on that comp (more undercover material would become more appealing) - let me worry about how my tracks are promoted, don't decide for me how my work is best dealt with please.
ok enough - i got more records to make, but maybe i won't give them to guys with radio shows as they will be ripped and used under the guise of "its a set nothing more nothing less", then we all lose out.

Yup thats what Im gonna do. Step 1, is make the mix in MM, Step 2, try to duplicate it without cheating, Step 3, if youre not successful at Step 2 - cheat alittle. :p :p |

Hehehhe :) thats the ticket. I have some mixes myself from a while back when I was first introduced to MM but I wasnt so bold as to post them on here because some people can give contructive critisism but some people just come at you unrespectfully and I would rather avoid that situation altogether. Maybe one day I will :p |

| Ehh, Ive made alot of mixes, but those are the only ones Ive posted simply because of the genre. I didnt do it to promote myself, I did it just so people would have something to listen to in their cars if they had that urge for some house music. |
