i would give jimmy van M another chance if it wasnt on a FRIDAY, as usual. the last time i saw him he damn near put me to sleep. but i think he was just playing like that b/c it was at this dinky little lounge in philly, and the vibe was more laidback and chill. i hear he's been known to thrown down some really good sets. i guess that night just wasnt one of them.

Complimentary admission on clubplanet before 12 a.m.

I'm going with my friends but it's not a big night. Saw Jimmy Van M in Seattle awhile back and it was pretty Digweed'esque. Meaning slow chugging rhythms filtered with a few choice cuts.

Maybe if I drink more the music will be more grooving.... ???

well, JVM is well known opening for Sasha & Digweed and must say he is an excellent opener.. opening set is difficult because, everyone has records that can move you, peak time stuff but opener has to set the tone right for the headliner which means no 'big room' tracks should really be played.. also usaully the main volume level is set a few notches lower than the headliner.. so considering all this, to play 'good' fillers and to keep it interesting enuff for ppl to move/groove to is not such an easy task... i myself never saw JVM where he was the main headliner, just had the opportunity to see him @ twilo when he was the resident opener for S&D and lately again when he opened for them @ Crobar.. :)

Yep, saw him opening up for Sasha/Digweed on the Delta Heavy Tour as well as solo in Seattle.

If someone is a fan of Digweed, then they would most likely dig Jimmy Van M. I don't dislike it but it kind of depends on the mood. We'll see...it could be good. At least I'm going right? :happy2:
