Question regarding the non-city issued parking tickets

I just have a question for all you legal issue freaks (ok, cool ppl with access to this info) - if you get a parking ticket on a non-city operated lot issued by that company (not the municipal parking of city of Toronto or whatever), are you still required to pay it? Someone told me that by law you're not required to due to some legislation they have set a while ago, or whatnot... so anyone have some more info?

, good thing you reminded me. Yes please some info on this would be appreciated. I got a f*king trespassing ticket issued by some company because i made a wrong turn into their apartment building's driveway. I was there for 5 secs (I didn't even stop! - until the nerdy ass prick security dude on gay shorts stopped me) while i tried to get back on the main road :whip:

rip it up if ya want ;)

it won't affect your license renewal like tickets from the City/Police, but they can try to send it to collections though and you'd have to fight it from there, AFAIK.

Ditto for being towed from private lots...you don't "have" to pay. BY LAW, they *must* release the car to you at no charge providing you present valid ID, license and insurance. They then have to either sue you in small claims court, or more likely, send it to collections. So you can either pay, or deal with the crappy credit for 7 years, lol

I'm not worried about towing... because the paperwork required to get a permission to tow a car takes at least 5-6 hours.

Then again, I work for this company as well... so, I'm just wondering if I should even bother calling them up and arguing with them, busting my boss' balls for a few minutes over the ticket, or not bother at all. :D

how does parking ticket related to bad credit? wtf are you talking about

bad credit means - you took the money from the bank and didn't gave it back, saying you went bankrupt or whatever.

all this things you get from phone companies and such etc about checking your credit just a bull.

there is Goverment database for social insurance number and there's commercial one wich banks are use for their own things like - marking up that you have a bad credit.

all those companies just have an access to that commercial database and it ends right there. - they cant add anything in it.

um...no, you're completley wrong. mobile phone companies, credit card issuers, car dealerships, etc. can all "hit" your bureau (ie. check your credit). They require your permission, but if you check their contract, you'll see that by signing/applying, you agree to let them check your credit. your credit rating is also adversely affected by late payments and outstanding collections too, not just in dealing with banks.

Any business can start a relationship with a collection agency. You don't pay, they can send it to collections, who can in turn post the collection to credit bureaus like Equifax. Items on your bureau stay there for up to 7 years.

Any collection agency can post a collection to your bureau and it immediately affects your credit rating...hell, you may never even know. If it's an "unjust" collection posted, there is a resolution process with each credit bureau. I know for a fact that private tow companies can, and will, send their upaid accounts to collection agencies who in turn will post to the bureaus.
