I've listened to it a few times now and I think it sounds abit like a marc dawn or nu-nrg production..

lead is maybe abit too harsch.. my ears gets quite tired after awhile...

im doing a prog mix of this if i can be arsed to finish it, and although the melody sounds well too happy n energetic for prog it actually works pretty well

the kick is fine. its quite paul van dyk in thats kind of round and clean with not very much sub but i like that. its also clean and prominant all the way through the mix and i know from experience how hard that is to do. you twatted the filter cutoff too much though! once you sweep in the main melody theres too much mid and top end and the hats and bassline becomes barely audible (!!! - not sure how the bass is inaudible cuz it shouldnt be sitting that high. nonetheless i can barely feel it there). you can hear your offhats interfering with the main synth, especially towards the end. its a cracking good tune though but careful with that filter - the rest of your track is being pushed back by that massive lead. maybe try widening that or the hats in stereo. the bass needs to come up a bit. you have a pretty constant and massive sub in there so that may or may not be a problem. maybe shelf off everything below 50 hz on the bassline and bring it up with a compressor and whack the gain up a bit? or a bit of a sharp boost on an EQ around 65 to 150 hz? im not sure if that will hurt the kick or not cuz the kick sounds a bit higher and tighter than the ones i make.

the melody doesnt remind me of anything so id say you are good to go. nice job on this one.

Some great energy there Luke, good to see you took my advice to post some stuff up here :p

I agree about the richness of the lead though, or it could be some distortion, I don't know. It sounds very full, perhaps a bit too much.

All the rest seems nice to me, looking forward to the full tune ;)

Cheers,
Wim

WAY too much highs IMO. Unfortunately lots of samples here have that problem, I can barely listen to this, my ears hurt.
Apart from that it sounds great though :)
