| I know this isn't directly a trance related thread, but this is the music section. Anyway, I just finished listening to John Digweeds latest KISS set with Saeed and is it just me but are our most of Digweeds sets hit and miss. Like I mean he has some sick sick tracks and then all of a sudden the hype kinda falls back a bit with the next track. I am just curious if I am the only one who thinks that or are their others who think the same thing. By the way the first tune in this set is killer. |

thing about digweed is hes totally a dj you have to see live to really appreciate. everything falls into place in a club, and his show is supposed to be for him to just play some tunes hes feeling at the moment, and not be and not just full of big club tracks. hel maybe play the tracks at different times in a set, but only has an hour to showcase
them on his show. you should check out hernan cattaneo's show if you like the tunes digweed plays. hernan plays more like a 2hour set starting more laid back then getting pretty melodic and playing the big tunes. |

| Go see digweed play a 4 hr set, it is pure nastiness and pure musak and he plays so many styles so seamlessly, you love it. |

As I wrote earlier, the man is a phenomena.
He doesnt use his Kiss-sets to play one smash hit after another just as certain other
well known DJs, Digweed plays tunes that he wanted to hear for the moment and it
may vary from ambient and chillout to hard tech house and not to forget, he plays gigs some of gigs he has done too!
And not to forget, one hell of a dj to watch. |

From www.johndigweed.com:
"His list of achievements is groundbreaking to say the least. Highlights of which would be the first proper dj mix compilation ("Renaissance", done with Sasha)"
Far from the first. After this extremely pretentious remark he goes on to describe himself as unpretentious several times:
"As a person John's lack of pretense is enveloped in imagination and invention."
"Without heroic pretentions his sets are filled with moodiness and musical mystery..."

Well his shows are hit or miss yeah
There's some great shows he's done that were not live .... but I think it's essential to indeed notice he's just playing the new tunes; not trying to rip the dancefloor.
Diggers kiss100 = the bestest :) |
