DJ Sammy's Rise Again Single (pg. 4)

OK, you all hate DJ Sammy, but I don't see anyone else making the effort to market their CDs. Noone wants to take a risk of losing money.
People say it's about money for 'commercial' artists, but heck, at least they get their stuff in the shops!
If you want people to hear 'proper' trance then get them to put their stuff in the shops instead of on some 12" Vinyl that's only available from a remote source which only the few get their hands on.
I'd desperately love to buy 'Mirage' 'Symsonic', 'Alba' or 'Swing To Harmony' in the shops on CD but I can't. It was supposedly a September CD release for Nikola Gala. Shame on the labels. :whip: :whip:
DJ Sammy may not make the best songs or get the best press on here, but at least people hear of the word Trance through him. Until these underground artists get off their asses and market their stuff, I say "tough" if noone has heard of them.
And for the record ('scuse the pun) I quite liked 'Rise Again'. |

I don't really get your post. So is Sammy's stuff automatically good because people have easy access to it or does the fact that people have easy access to it excuse him from having any of his productions labeled as ?? I don't really understand how your post fits in this thread and to me it sounds like your saying that Sammy has this immunity from any form of criticism because he gets his work out there better than other artists. If that the case then you're full of utter .

If you don't like the thread then don't read it. If you don't want to hear an ill word about DJ Sammy then start posting on his message board and stay the hell away from here. Unless I read the forum title wrong this is the New Releases Discussion forum, not New Releases Praise forum. As such there will be people posting opinions that you might not agree with and not everyone will be going OMG CHOOOOON!!!!!!! to everything you like. Ok, so you don't like a certain DJ. Critize all you want, telling us how bad it is. But when it becomes a flame, that's where it should stop, hence...

Whoever said they liked it should be euthanised for the good of the species and shipped in a box to scientists who can figure out what makes people listen and make this kind of . THIS is what is keeping trance down. THIS is what is keeping it from becoming popular in the states. THIS is the GAY stigma americans have for dance music. People hear this, think trance and thats the problem. My guess is that this track will not allow Sammy to rise again at all. Hopefully he will burn in the flames of this thread.

As for telling us if we don't have something nice to say don't say it at all?? If you were directing the comment at the out of line post you quoted then I understand to an extent. But telling it to everyone else who stated their opinion without resulting to a flame is childish. |

Well, if you read other post and comments on others subjects about other DJ, you will see that statement more often than not. And I tend to agree with that comment, hence my post.
Maybe you're failing to compare what an "opinion" and a "flame" is. Let me reiterate an example; flame is a direct insult to the person, opinion is just that, a decision you made based on your own judgement.
And when I say "don't post if you have nothing nice to say", just means opinions wanted, flames not needed. Just call it a cliche' on the forums.
