Man, distraught over Bush re-election kills self

NEW YORK (AP) -- A 25-year-old from Georgia who was apparently distraught over President Bush's re-election shot and killed himself at ground zero.
Andrew Veal's body was found Saturday morning inside the off-limits site, said Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. A shotgun was found nearby, but no suicide note was found, Coleman said.
Veal's mother said her son was upset about the result of the presidential election and had driven to New York, Gus Danese, president of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association, told
The New York Times in Sunday's editions.
Friends said Veal worked in a computer lab at the University of Georgia and was planning to marry.
"I'm absolutely sure it's a protest," Mary Anne Mauney, Veal's supervisor at the lab, told The Daily News. "I don't know what made him commit suicide, but where he did it was symbolic."
Police were investigating how Veal entered the former World Trade Center site, which is protected by high fences and owned by the Port Authority.

okay so if i was him and i:
1. Hated bush
2. Didnt see anything fun in life and wanted to die
3. Wanted to do something against bush
i would definitely try to shoot bush instead ;) |

the guy was probably suicidal to begin with.. honestly.. how bad can it be? just ride out the 4 years. it's not like the guy was living in a 3rd world country or something. he was about to get married, had a decent job, gets 3 square a day... i really doubt bush was the main cause of his problems.
sad story really. i'm sure if he had a few days to think about it he'd have probably changed his mind... living 4 years under bush isn't something to kill yourself over. |

everything happens for a reason. this is an action their wil be a reaction. maybe has fate has it itll start a revolution.
