I've been djing for about a year and have built up a pretty decent vinyl collection, but I feel that this new mp3 mixing stuff is a great idea. Especially for playing out my own tracks and getting feedback, etc.
I did a search to see if anyone has compared these two, but found nothing.
Does anyone here have experience with both programs? If so, is one stronger than the other in any way?
Thanks for any advice. |

In general I think anyone who has tried both probobly had FS, got fed up and got SSL; so they like SSL more. I have FS 1.1 and 1.5, my major grip is that backspins are essentially useless because they sound so bad. Other than that I am pretty happy with it.
I have not used SSL but from all the screen shots of it I do not like the interface much, but they may change that or maybe I would just need to get used to it. It just seems to me that the interface is cluttered with a bunch of useless info, particularly the "beat mapping" images.
I am really curious as to how SSL compares with FS 2.0 or even a decent review of FS 2.0. Because Rane is not offering any competative upgrade options the price of SSL and FS 2 is about the same for a current FS user. So unless SSL is offereing something cool that FS2 can't do I think I will be upgrading to FS2 when I find a good review of it. |
